Berry Monkey-Victory Brewing Company
The Keystone State is not local
Credit-couldn’t pass up the two buck off sale while waiting for traders from @Meld
Style-soured and fruited tripel
Format-12 oz can, not shared either night
Best by-FEB 21 25 PBG 24052 06:57 FL

Appearance-pale and slightly cloudy pinkish orange; generous Belgian lacing
Nose-a raspberry/lemon lime soda
Mouthfeel-ticklish
Tastes-a sour, high gravity Rubaeus (lemons, limes, oranges and raspberries)
Adjuncts-raspberries and maybe some Belgian candi sugar and coriander (last 2 not verified)
IBU-maybe 20
ABV-9.5%
Overall impression-the Rubaeus comparison is high praise
Ymm, Beer rating-low cat 3; I’ve liked their Golden Monkey for a couple decades, found their Sour Monkey enticing and was rather impressed with this one, too, especially at the price point
If you ever see a mixed 12 pack of the above 3, buy it/share it/trade it!

Re: Ymm, Beer!
German Chocolate Cake-Southern Pines Brewing Company
Another direct from the taproom purchase
Credit-younger son in law delivers again; thanks!!
Style-BBA and flavored imperial pastry stout; not some cheapass, juvenile, toasted, goo filled garbage
Format-pull ribboned, waxed and capped 500 ml bottle, shared 4 ways
Glassware-tumblers
Appearance-midnight; thin, beige head
Nose-bourbon and dark chocolate cake batter
Mouthfeel-Oh. My.
Tastes-dark chocolate, bourbon, muted coconut and pecans, molasses
Adjuncts-toasted coconut, pecans, cacao
IBU-73
ABV-14.9%
Overall impression-totally decadent
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 3; couple quibbles would be the muted coconut and pecan tastes (difficult to brew, I’d guess) and the $20 price tag as it was waaay more approachable when @Tripping.William and I both found some pint cans of this and Drunken Vigils for about $8-9 each for pint cans a few years ago.

Style-DIPA

Ultimate Oktoberfest-Founders Brewing
Read the back label; amusing stuff. A BBA imperial German-style Marzen loaded with floral, light caramel and bourbon flavors. A seductively smooth brew at 9.4% ABV and guessing low IBU. Thanks @AugustWest who will be searching out a 4 pack from Total Wine for trading/purchase at the Ucon tailgate. Mid cat 3 quality
