A nice article on the successful experiment that is Jordan Moore.
https://www.wralsportsfan.com/how-duke- ... /21577844/Second-team All-ACC in 2023. The Biletnikoff Award Watch List this season. Not bad for a quarterback turned wide receiver. Now Duke's Jordan Moore is ready to move from good to great in his third full season at the position.
"It's no longer an experiment," Moore said after practice on Wednesday. "It's a place I should be at, and a place where I can excel at."

Here ya go, Bob, a current seating chart for the season. Doesn't appear that you and your band of ne'er-do-wells will have any issues with the "authorities" if you sit in section 20:

We are less than two weeks away when this announcement was made, so that tells me that there truly was competition for the spot and it wasn't gifted to MM. I like that.Bob Green wrote: ↑August 19th, 2024, 8:10 pmMaalik Murphy is QB1:

Re: Duke Football 2024 - Diaz Dawning
This is a good behind the scenes look at the QB competition.
Also, from that same article. I like this!Duke football head coach Manny Diaz said finding QB1 in fall camp was a challenge for the Blue Devils. Texas transfer Maalik Murphy and sophomore Grayson Loftis didn't make it easy on the coaching staff.
"This was a great competition. Grayson and Malik pushed each other really, really hard, and I would probably tell you, 10 days ago, I'm not sure that we knew the answer," Diaz said.
So how did the coaching staff figure out Murphy would be the one behind center?
https://www.wralsportsfan.com/here-s-ho ... /21587646/"He throws the ball extraordinarily well down the field," Diaz said. "We pride ourselves on stretching the field horizontally and stretching it vertically, and his accuracy down the field, I think, is a big plus for our offense,"

This is 18 minutes well spent watching Diaz take questions prior to this week's game.

Re: Duke Football 2024 - Diaz Dawning
I enjoyed our win but I've got way too many questions about our offense against a team we should have scored way more on. A 3-0 first quarter didn't scream optimism to me, but at least that zero hung around for a very long time.
In other news, Riley Leonard welcomed Midnight Mike to the SEC with a home loss that will kick them out of the top 25.
Couldn't happen to a nicer coach!

Re: Duke Football 2024 - Diaz Dawning
I watched parts of the Northwestern 13, Miami (OH) 6 game. Miami passed against NU better than they rushed. Miami has an experienced QB who went 22/37 for 227 yards with two interceptions. Their ground game accounted for 40 yards on 24 attempts.
Northwestern also turned the ball over twice with fumbles. The Wildcats have a transfer QB (Mike Wright) who is duel threat and talented. Wright was the team’s leading rusher with 65 yards on nine carries. They have talent at the skill positions including running back Cam Porter and wide receiver Bryce Kirtz.
Northwestern shot themselves in the foot a couple times with turnovers and penalties, plus Miami (OH) is a tougher opponent than Elon but my biased opinion is Duke is better than NU.
Our defense will need to clamp down on Wright and, as always, turnovers will be key but my biased opinion is Duke wins a competitive game. Our offense needs to figure out how to run the ball plus Murphy needs to connect on those deep balls.
Prediction: Duke 23, Northwestern 14

Re: Duke Football 2024 - Diaz Dawning
I re-watched the Elon game last night and I'm not as unimpressed as I first was. So many of those incompletions were a literal inch from being great plays, and at least a couple were flat out drops. Murphy and the receiving corps will get better as they develop chemistry through the season, and we're going to see some explosive action.
I also am less down on our running game. Overall it wasn't bad at all. We moved the ball well a healthy mix of passing and running, although coming away from the first half with almost only a field goal still irritates me. (We scored that TD in the last 2 minutes.)
I'm looking forward to seeing more of what Diaz and Duke has against NU, and I'm feeling pretty good that with our defense we'll come back to Durham 2-0.

Duke opens as a 2.5 points favorite with the over/under at 42.5 points:
