Overall impression-rivals about any other Scotch ale I’ve ever had, including Traquair and the long extinct McEwans, excluding the Catawba Brewing BBA Hooligan (in their barrel room) at 13% which was stunning

Tastes-bourbon, dark brown sugar syrup (but not cloying), wet leather and tobacco, more bourbon and dark dried fruits
IBU-didn’t research but guessing 50
ABV-15%; this was a big, big, boozy beer
Overall impression-fantastic
Ymm, Beer rating-high cat 3; I found some crazietalk reviews from the last 3 years and this competes very nicely with several from Hardywood (#OBIR, Burley and Knob Creek) in addition to a few more from Wolf’s Ridge (various Nipperts and L’il Nipperts like Blanton Barrel, Rye Barrel and Coffee versions); I am over the moon delighted to have 3 remaining from my $30 or $32 four pack that I found this spring on a Chicago trip
