Good morning. I had a tooth pulled yesterday afternoon. I cracked one of the roots on a molar with a crown on it. I was in “the chair” for a full 2 hours. That sucker didn’t want to come out. Eventually the dentist won. Was sore as hell yesterday. Eventually Advil and Tylenol won. Doing OK this morning, still taking the OTC meds.

Good morning. No problems with the extraction, still taking ibuprofen and Tylenol so avoid any pain. Golf today. (I thought I wanted to avoid pain???)

For the first time in 2 years, I played well yesterday! Only hit 3 really bad shots, all drives. Two were hit OB (out of bounds) which resulted in my only double and triple bogeys of the day. The last bad drive resulted in the shot of the year. Make that the millennium! Par 5, dribbled the drive 75 yards to the right. Tried to hit my next shot with an 8 iron over some trees. Didn’t make it over, fell straight down right behind the tree, had to chip out sideways back to the fairway. Measured 225 yards to the green. Decided to hit my 14 degree alternate driver , which normally if I hit it perfectly (which isn’t often) it would go about 200 yards. I hit it better than perfect. I scorched it! Straight towards the green. I said that could go on! Saw it hit, bounce and roll on! Got up to the green and didn’t see the ball? Did I roll through the green and off the back? Looked behind the green on the down slope. Not there. Where is it? Looked in the hole and there it was! Made a birdie! A 225 yard hole in 4!

I have made one hole-in-one (1997) and once eagled a par four with a short iron shot, but this is by far (no pun intended) the longest shot I have ever “holed out”!

Good morning! 3 day NCRWA (Rural Water Association) conference starts today in Winston Salem. First item on the agenda? A golf tournament, played at Tanglewood in Clemmons. I don’t often get to play on my birthday!
