I’m interested to see our Sagarin rating when the update is posted later this morning. It will not surprise me if we move up or at least stay the same after a close loss to higher rated Pitt.

Duke moves UP to 49 in Sagarin ratings. Wake Forest is 36. Opening odds have Duke as a 3.5 points underdog.

Really looking forward to a great game. I think it will be classic Duke/Wake, with the winner nearer to 50 than 30, and the loser not far behind.

And fucking dishonest acc refs who cheated us out a Coastal Division championship with 2 bullshit, phantom calls against the dirty, lying bastards down 15-501.

Weird. He also has 6-6 teams Oklahoma and Florida in the top 20, so whatever.

Re: Duke Football 2022 (Currently EIGHT & 4; 5-3 ACC)
Well I'm even more impressed now. Elko not only got the team to buy into him from day one, he got them to buy into him on day whatever it is now.
A few big time players are putting out tweets that they are coming back, including Jacob Monk. His was a bit confusing, since he's started 4 years. But his dad (some guy named Stan something) tailgates next to us and I just asked him if that means a year 5.
Yup. He's taking advantage of his COVID opportunity and coming back
I can't wait to see what coach does in the portal.

Haven't seen any other tweets from other players (care to elaborate and not some shit from a fake twitter account that some asshole mod OY thought was ok months ago about some Duke team) but I saw Monk's about an hour ago. Great news!!CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑November 28th, 2022, 6:26 pmWell I'm even more impressed now. DeWayne Carter and Ja’mion Franklin appear to be coming back, from their Twitter conversation yesterday. EDIT: The top of the response is cut off, but it says “Sounds good.”devildeac wrote: ↑November 28th, 2022, 7:51 pmHaven't seen any other tweets from other players (care to elaborate and not some shit from a fake twitter account that some asshole mod OY thought was ok months ago about some Duke team) but I saw Monk's about an hour ago. Tony Davis and Darrell Harding Jr have both announced their intentions to enter the transfer portal. Best of luck to both of them, unless they play us in 2023.

Duke landed 9 players on various All-ACC teams, showing up in each of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mentions. Some like Calhoun were recognized multiple times. (I think he listed on three.)

Don't recall hearing Davis' name much at all this year. Hoped for better from Shelton and Harding but don't recall any bad issues/reports. Sounded like Harding was close when Elko made a couple comments about him during the season, especially after the Pancol injury. I wish them success.

Elko named COY! Obviously earned, but still, what an amazing job.

Fortunately of late it's looking less like Gasprailla and more like Military Bowl. I can't, of course, get anywhere very far from Georgia during Christmas, but I'd be glad because half of everyone from Duke lives around DC.

Re: Duke Football 2022 (Currently EIGHT & 4; 5-3 ACC)
Yes, Duke would have a much better fan presence there. (Bob Green will be in the front row!), but since I'm not going either way, I'd selfishly rather Duke play in a better bowl that they earned against a better opponent.throatybeard wrote: ↑December 2nd, 2022, 12:49 pmFortunately of late it's looking less like Gasprailla and more like Military Bowl. It would be interesting to ask the coaches and players which they'd prefer. "Do you want a louder crowd, or do you want to play in a higher tier game?"
Truly, in the long run, I'll take whatever, since this debate wasn't even in my mind 3 months ago.
