The first half was amazing. (And the Duke RB plowing over a ref for the first down has gone viral, lol)

The second half is one I'll be skipping when watching the replay.

Duke 30, Temple 0

Defense was stifling, offense was dynamic.
Coulda been 40-0 if Ham had made his "chippie" 25 yard FG and/or one of the blind refs had called a blatant PI in the end zone and/or we had not committed a dumass unnecessary roughness (not sure about this call; on our offense-WTF?) near or in the red zone on another long-ish drive.

Very satisfying performance

Yup. Lots to like, lots of room for improvement as we step up our level of competition.

I'd like to point out that Duke's defense allowed 61 less points than the Carolina defense did this weekend.

Duke opened as a seven point underdog to Northwestern but the line has moved to +10.

That's fine with me. I prefer being the decided underdog with so many unknowns. I don't think either team's first games gave us much to judge by.

It's interesting that per that page you shared, both teams have matching "Last 5 games" records. Ended the year with 4 losses, started this one with one win.

Giving up 61 points to Chase Brice is really awful.

Northwestern gets one vote in the latest Coaches Poll.
Let's take it away.

With the win over Temple, Duke moved up 18 spots in Sagarin ratings from 104 to 86.

Here's a well written look ahead, from the NU perspective.
Three matchups to watch against Duke
A shutout is a shutout no matter how you angle it. What the Blue Devils did to stifle a Temple offense — albeit, a traditionally underwhelming unit — is an impressive feat. It’s easy to forget that the NCAA doesn’t offer players any sort of preseason tune up prior to the start of the regular season, so for a defense to work together so cohesively out of the gates, regardless of the opponent, is a startling statement that the ‘Cats should pay close attention to.

No score prediction from me since I don't know enough about either team yet, but I do think it will be close. I will be surprised if either team wins by double digits.
