Duke wins Game 3, 7-4, to improve season record to 18-18.

And softball Duke completes the sweep against the Cheats. Duke was down 1-3 in the final inning of the final game, but clubbed a one-out, two-run homer to tie things up, then hit three consecutive singles and a pop fly for an error to score the game winner. A good weekend for the Devils.

Duke Softball won their first ACC Tourney game ever tonight, wooohooo!

They were going to the NCAA's regardless; they are good. But this is another milestone crossed.

What a great comeback! Error in the bottom of the fifth put FSU ahead 3-2, but Duke puts on a nice rally in the top of the seventh to push across the tying run with one out, then sac flies home the go-ahead tally, and a great diving stab catch at 2nd base by Foreman stops a counter-rally in its tracks in the bottom half to seal the win. Final is 4-3, Duke, and it stops a run of 6 straight FSU ACC tournament titles. Instead, Duke (4th-year program) plays Clemson (2nd-year program) in the final at noon tomorrow.

Recall that Clemson lost the first two to us in the regular season, then rallied back to win the last two to split the season series, also snapping our 20-game win streak. Time for revenge.

Duke beat Clemson Thursday and Friday to clinch the series. Final game of the regular season today at 13:00.

Record is 26-20 (15-17). We are on NCAA bubble so need a strong showing in ACCT.

Duke softball's season ended today in a hard fought and exciting game, coming down to the last out with a chance at victory in a back and forth contest.
