Saint Arnold - Houston, TX
Fruited Berliner Weisse
ABV: 3.6%
IBU: 7
Color: raspberry
Nose: raspberry
Taste: raspberry
Wonder what that AF stands for?
This one is pretty tart and has a dry finish. I like the Rubaeus, which has a bit more sweetness to it, better.

Fullsteam White Lily Hazy IPA
Its always awesome when you pop open a can and start a pour and the whole room fills with hop aroma.
Transient head.
Lemon, grapefruit, and orange nose.
The nose knows.
The fruitiness is muted by the pithiness- there is a lot of grapefruit pith in the finish. The open is mild lemon and orange.
This is a great beer.

NoDa Gordgeous
Yes, Yes it is.
Gordgeous ruby brown in the glass with a thick white head.
Spicy pumpkin and autumnal nose.
Worth just enjoying the aroma.
Malty, and not sweet.
Rich mouthfeel, and the finish is all about pumpkin spice.
The ideal pumpkin beer.
Scoff at your own risk- an excellent, excellent beer.

Will You Join us for Silent Night Day 2020?
Like so many of you, we are closely paying attention to the continued health risk posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and have seen many changes to the way that we do business, both internally and in our community and industry at large, as this risk persists. We’ve had many conversations over the course of the last several weeks about Silent Night Day 2020 and the best path forward for this event. Each year Silent Night Day brings an incredible celebration to our brewery, serving as a reunion of sorts for friends, family members, and beer lovers to come together with us and enjoy this special beer. We also understand that as the health threat remains, we have a responsibility to our staff and our guests to ensure that any sort of event that we conduct is done as safely as possible and is designed to both conform to government-established regulations and mitigate any risks posed.
With that in mind, we’ve opted to move all Silent Night bottle sales for 2020 to our online store. We are pleased to offer multiple variations of Silent Night this year, including:
2020 Silent Night (aged 12 months in Blanton’s Bourbon barrels)
2020 Silent Night Reserve (aged 12 months in Mother Earth Spirits Whiskey barrels)
2020 Silent Night Grand Reserve (aged 24 months in Mother Earth Spirits Whiskey barrels)
2020 El Silenciosa Noche (spiced with cocoa nibs, vanilla beans, cinnamon sticks and spicy peppers, and aged in Blanton’s Bourbon barrels)
Bottles will go on sale beginning at 12pm on Saturday, November 14th via our online store, and will be available for curbside pickup at Mother Earth Brewing beginning on Silent Night Day, Saturday, November 21st. Additionally, this year for the first time we are pleased to offer nationwide shipping for Silent Night (some restrictions apply). Please note that quantities are limited for all variations of 2020 Silent Night. All sales are final, and no refunds or exchanges will be issued.
Silent Night Day 2020 will take place on Saturday, November 21st, the Saturday before Thanksgiving. As we have always done, we’ll be offering select vintage Silent Night releases on tap, as well as draft offerings of our variant releases only available at the Tap Room. As we work to comply with current NC DHHS guidelines for indoor service and to accommodate as many guests as safely possible, we will be conducting Silent Night Day 2020 utilizing online reservations for Tap Room visitors. Reservations will be available for parties of four to six people, and will be available in three separate three hour time blocks throughout the day. Your reservation guarantees you admission to the Tap Room for Silent Night Day 2020. Reservations can be made here: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/127351683313/
For those unable to attend Silent Night Day 2020, we’re pleased to offer a virtual online Silent Night Day tasting guided by Mother Earth Master Brewer and Executive Vice President, Matthew Hart. Matthew will guide attendees through each of this year’s Silent Night offerings and the process behind crafting each one, with an opportunity at the conclusion for moderated discussion and Q&A. This virtual online tasting will be free, though space will be limited. In order to join, simply order your 2020 Silent Night Gift Pack from our online store, which includes one bottle of each of our four 2020 Silent Night releases, by Monday, November 16th. Orders for the Silent Night Gift Pack completed by this date will receive a link to our virtual online tasting on Saturday, November 21st.
We know things are still weird and uncomfortable, and we feel it every day along with you. Our hope is to continue with our tradition in the best way that we can, to include as many of our friends as we can safely, whether in person or virtually, and to bring something joyful to a year that hasn’t had enough joy. We look forward to celebrating Silent Night Day 2020 with you the best way we can, and to returning full force with a blowout party in 2021!

Foothills Update for the 336-
"2020 BOURBON BARREL SEXUAL CHOCOLATE RELEASE
Many of you have been anxiously awaiting word on when we would be releasing this year's version of Bourbon Barrel Aged Sexual Chocolate. Well good news and bad news . . . the bad news is, we will not be releasing Moravian Porter in 2020. This beer has become a local holiday favorite, but the pandemic has forced us to scale back our portfolio for the year, and sadly Moravian Porter didn't make the cut.
But the good news is that, in its place on Black Friday (November 27), we will be releasing BA Sexual Chocolate 2020! It's been patiently waiting in barrels all these months, and will finally be available on draft and in cans.
The tasting room will be hosting a little release party with Lobster Dogs food truck and live music from Dante's Roadhouse. Stop by and share a pour of one of our favorite beers we make!"
Somebody tell Tripping William too. Their release parties are phenomenal with side by sides of past BBA Sexual Chocolates and Olde Rabbit's Foote in the past...

Re: Ymm, Beer!
From Thursday PM:
(again, always intimidated by trying to review a world classsic)
Westmalle Trappist Tripel-Brouwerij der Trappisten van Westmalle
A brewery with that name is not located in the US.
Credit-Virtual Pub participant and and extra $ or $$ for the single
Style-^^^^
Format-330 ml (heavyweight) bottle
Stemware-large Ommegang tulip because I don't have an "official" Westmalle glass
Appearance-yellow gold, slightly cloudy; very generous, fizzy, foamy, clingy, Belgian lacy head
Nose-floral hops, light sugar/candy syrup
Mouthfeel-sexy
Tastes-apple, pear, sourdough bread, flowers, banana, bubble gum and a pinch of black pepper
Hops-Styrian Goldings, some German varieties and the classic Saaz pilsener
Yeast-likely the same one used since 1956
IBU-probably 30-35
ABV-9.5%
Overall impression-haven't had one in a couple decades (my loss); a desert island beer
Ymm, Beer rating-upper quartile cat 3; totally worth the $6 for the bottle; anyone sipping this today will be highly impressed
