Had this last night, found it quite enjoyable.devildeac wrote: ↑October 20th, 2020, 10:29 pmMinute Man-Three Notch'd Brewing Company (with a branch/taproom in RVA, IIRC)
Local for the beer mule who brung it.
Credit-a trader from Nrrrrvous; thanks!!
Style-NEIPA (see below)
Format-another aluminum tree, gone forever
Stemware-standard pint glass
Appearance-slightly hazy, amber orange; moderate eggwhite head
Nose-OJ
Mouthfeel-more bitter than claimed (see below)
Tastes-orange juice and zest, grapefruit and more pine/resin than I'd have thought with the NEIPA on the label
IBU-20 (bovine shenanigans!); felt/tasted closer to 50
ABV-7%
Overall impression-tasted more like a west coast/NEIPA hybrid with the (perceived) bitterness and the pineyness; good pairing with some deep dish pizza
Ymm, Beer rating-overall, a very good product so mid/upper cat 2; I'd sip this again and/or try other Three Notch'd products

Let the PW’ing begin.
Center of the Earth Monkey’s Uncle
Lemongrass Tripel
Brass gold pour, no head.
Has that good Belgian candi sugar yeasty nose.
Reminds me of Big Boss Hell’s Bells.
Maybe I don’t know what Lemongrass tastes/smells like.
A huge thanks to Nrrvous from OY!

Re: Ymm, Beer!
I bought this at a Virginia Walmart this weekend while on a camping trip. I love DB sampler packs, wish I could find them here in the local New Bern stores.
My review is that they were all really good, even the lowly 4.5% ABV "Loved By The Sun".

Very nice. Haven't seen any of those DB brews before, but they make a great Vienna Lager.CameronBornAndBred wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2020, 6:43 pmI bought this at a Virginia Walmart this weekend while on a camping trip. I love DB sampler packs, wish I could find them here in the local New Bern stores.

Kinda weird. Like going to a new bar and seeing the same people. Except, apparently, in this bar I can say Fuck! and not get in trouble...
Re: Ymm, Beer!
I'm pretty sure that every bar in RVA has DB Vienna Lager on tap. I'm not kidding. Every. Single. One.mattman91 wrote: ↑October 22nd, 2020, 6:57 pmVery nice. Veil Deathless
Veil makes a Marzen/Octoberfest!!!
(Today I learned!)
Super frothy head.
Gorgeous copper colour.
A little ambivalent on the actual taste.
I swear there is a fruitness akin to there other beers like they reused a not quite clean enough fermenter.
Has a bit of a nutty finish.
I don’t generally think of Marzen’s as exotic.
I’m also pretty sure I would not have called this a Marzen in a blind tasting.
Really good, really unexpected.
Thanks again, Compass Rose Brew Crew!

Deathless-The Veil Brewing
Local if you're the delivery guy.
Credit-accfanfrom1970; thanks!!
Style-Marzen like lager
Format-there goes another 16 ounce aluminum tree
Numbers on bottom of can-09/23/2020 13:58:12
Glassware-Dogfish Head nonic pint
Appearance-clean, clear light/medium amber; moderate foam
Nose-toasted bread and almonds (not added)
Mouthfeel-German (have no idea what that means but that was my first thought )
Tastes-thin, caramel syrup, nut mix, herbal hops, toasted bread, hint of honey
IBU-30 to 40
ABV-5.5%
Overall impression-not one of my favorite Veil products but nicely represents the style
Ymm, Beer rating-mid/upper cat 2; happy to have had a full pint and guessing about $3.50 for the pint, almost cheap beer by Veil pricepoints
Local if you're the delivery guy.

I’ll give it colour- it _looks_ like a Marzen.
Did not taste like any Marzen I’ve ever had.
Was an excellent beer nonetheless.

Brown Ale - Legend Brewing - 6%
Dark brown cola-like color with toffee and nuts on the nose.
I get strong malt, brown bread, sweet caramel, and well balanced by light hop dryness. Medium to full body for style.
Cat 3 for style for me. I loved it and this would be a go-to beer for me.
Thanks Nrrrvous!

Re: Ymm, Beer!
German Chocolate Cake - Lickinghole Creek Craft Brewery - 9% - Doppelbock
Reddish brown pour. I don't get much on the nose.
Disclaimer - I let this beer warm way too long as I was texting a lot before I started drinking. I'm sure this affected my impression.
I didn't really taste German chocolate cake flavors. I got some nuttiness but not pecans. I did not taste coconut. I got vanilla with maple syrup but somehow not in a good way. More like cheap caramel additives.
I don't know - I really think I ruined this beer by letting it warm too long. That said it wasn't bad by any means and I'd gladly drink another. I just had high expectations for it and didn't taste the flavors I was expecting. I had some really outstanding doppelbocks for German pub and this one just wasn't at that level for me.
Low Category 2. Thanks Nrrrvous! I can't love every beer I try, but I absolutely loved the Legend Brown ale.
