It’s so crazy right now I think the Dems have to lay low a bit. If there are points to be made that can happen in a few days time. Or more depending on what tRumps progression. Meanwhile Biden needs to hammer home his message on his plans and that he will be an American President....

I can’t post this OY but I am beginning to think there is a big possibility of a giant coverup with tRumps Covid infection. Did he know that he was infected several days before Friday? Was he trying to ride it out?
There just seems to be too much of this story that is untold. If they are hiding info I think they are making a big mistake because it will come out.

His doctor made a slip in the presser on Saturday morning that would seem to support this notion. They have since issued statements to say they misspoke.

I believe it’s no coincidence that the entire Trump entourage arrived in Cleveland too late to be tested. He was positive at that time; what other plausible explanation is there for 11 workers at this event to later test positive for the virus? What an inconsiderate douchebag.

It continues to amaze me that the pro-life folks support someone who has so little consideration for human life - apparently the unborn are much more important to them than the living. And the evangelicals support someone who has made a mockery of all of their alleged values.

Yet he might cheat his way back into the White House. It is going to be a very long month+.

After four years of stupidity, Trump really outdid himself with this. Maybe it is because I can't get myself to think like his supporters (which is generally a good thing), but I see almost no upside from what he did. But there is a ton of downside. He is just so obsessed with his own self-importance that he can't figure it out. Yet so many people are OK with someone this dumb and tone deaf running our country. I'm wondering if he asked any of his aides whether this was a good idea. It is also scary that it really demonstrates how afraid people are to stand up to him. Hopefully no one got sick as a result of this, and even if someone did, I'm guessing we will never find out.

I would assume that, just as soon as Trump himself gets back to normal campaigning, we will see the promised articles. Unlike Trump, The Times understands decorum. But once Trump declares that he back to the trail, they will be happy to help with that.

I don't think anyone is wishing for the president to die. Whether out of personal decency (which has left the Republican party) or for the reason you stated.

If Biden had come down with COVID, does anyone think there would have been the same measured response of basic humanity from the White House that we've seen from Joe?

Just trying to understand. Since Pence is #2, he is the #1 enabler of Trump. So you are okay with the racism, misogyny, incompetence, and lying...but you just don't like the vessel? Trump is only one sick individual. I'm more bothered by the hundreds of Rs in lockstep with him in D.C. They are all complicit, Pence chief among them.
