Harrumph.
It's a cluster here at the Varnish County Courthouse. At 1100 I'm supposed to be on the second floor AND the third floor. Simultaneously. At the same time.
Funny church story from yesterday: the Methodist churches in our area (maybe they all do, but I'm only familiar with the ones here) all choose laypersons of the year for service to the church and to the community. The Rev LG's church chose a couple, Jeff and Lisa, who are lovely, humble people. Their only weakness (it's a BIG one) is being members of that sheep club down the road. They are ENORMOUS sheep fans.
So yesterday morning, the Rev LG announced that the Laypersons of the Year for the church were Jeff and Lisa, and asked them to come forward. It was a total surprise to them. He gave a flowery, emotional speech about how much they did for the church, how they were there helping people at church, how they delivered the food to the Samaritan Ministries and Crisis Control, how they spearheaded the Agape Project shoeboxes to Armenia, etc., etc., etc. Then he said he had gone out of his way to buy them something special and meaningful to honor them.
He then handed Jeff a....COACH K BOBBLEHEAD.

Oh, yeah. I asked him, "why are you paying good money to give them a Coach K bobblehead? They'll probably crush it under their car wheels." He said, "well, Jeff is a nice guy and will give it back, and I don't have a Coach K bobblehead in my office like you do, and I want one."CathyCA wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 12:15 pmThat is RICH!lawgrad91 wrote: ↑October 7th, 2019, 9:47 amHarrumph.

And it transpired in just that manner.

Good "Hump Day" morning. It's recycle day in my part of Chesapeake so I get to start my day off by dragging empty beer cans to the curb.

Good morning. We're looking forward to seeing DukePA tonight. Before she gets here we're having dinner with friends from Ashville. At 3:30 today, I'm recording ''The Class That Saved Coach K''. It's Direct Tv ACC channel 612.
