Well it’s morfternoon in Icy Straight Point Alaska! Went whale watching this morning.

If you haven't seen my pictures on FB yet, the Rev. LG and I have an announcement.

Ahem....

We are the proud parents of a beautiful bouncing apricot Labradoodle. He is seven weeks old. His name is Kerrygold, for the Irish butter color of his fur (and the fact that he is a butterball!)

The Rev. LG buried Merlin in the backyard and planted a flower at his grave. He was very kind to do so.

I grieved hard yesterday, but Merlin had suffered enough and it was time. Kerry is not Merlin, but Merlin wasn't Kerry, either.

When I get a chance I will post pictures here. I am at my work computer and have no pictures of him on it yet.

Mom has been in the hospital again this weekend--low sodium. Apparently, it's how her body reacts to the pain of a broken bone--this time it's a fractured sacrum. After some expert treatment from her nephrologists and the outstanding members of the emergency medicine department at Vidant Hospital, Mom is back at home, and I am back at work. (When Mom goes in to the hospital, I go with her. I teased her yesterday about our expensive Girls' Weekend at the hospital.)
