Another guy to keep an eye on is Marquis Waters. Will be starting safety, and he was VERY impressive in his limited snaps last year. Very athletic and physical tackler. The combination of Gilbert, McDuffie, Singleton, Waters could be special.

Another defensive back I would add to your list is Michael Carter II who had a nice freshman year at safety and is moving to cornerback this season. Defensive back is another position where we have a lot of young talent.wolfpackdevil wrote:Another guy to keep an eye on is Marquis Waters. Coach Cutcliffe recent comment on redshirt freshman safety Leonard Johnson: "Leonard is one of our best football players." That is a strong statement and while all coaches, including Coach Cutcliffe, are guilty of coach speak, there has to be a foundation of truth to his comment.
Josh Blackwell and Damani Neal are two more redshirt freshmen who could be impact players. Blackwell is a guy I'd like to see be given a chance to return punts as he demonstrated good hands in the Spring Showcase and Neal was a 4* recruit who didn't see the field as a true freshman.
