Miami @ Duke, 9-29, 7PM Kick; Social Discussion

Post by CameronBornAndBred » September 24th, 2017, 5:17 pm

If you are a Duke football fan, you have to be loving this season so far! If you are a Duke football fan, you should be in Wallace Wade on Friday night!!!!!
4-0, 1-0 in the ACC, and if we win this, we will be ranked. Every Duke fan within driving distance should make the best effort to be there and to show that Wallace Wade looks beautiful bathed in Blue on TV.

Oh...and we'll be tailgating, which is another reason to show up. :happy-bouncyblue: :duke:

All parking lots will open at 5:00pm. I'll call the Iron Dukes tomorrow and ask about the drop off passes. Short tailgate in any event :( :9f:

Pathetic. Makes wonderful logic to have the tailgaters arrive after the Devil Walk. Dumasses.

I'll be there. Joy already said she'll be tired and won't attend but has been known to change her mind daily or even hourly. 8-|

As in year's past, we'll be dropping off the grill Thursday night so we can get in early and be ready to serve right after the Devil's walk.

The parking garage at Duke Hospital South is always open and is a 15 - 20 minute walk to the tailgate area.

The Hospital South garage gives any fan the option to arrive early and tailgate all afternoon. Don't understand why the public lot time matters. I've found the Hospital garage is barely any farther of a walk than most public lots anyways.

The official public lot times matter for this game because the lots are used for student and faculty parking and a) may not be emptied early and b) the parking Nazi's won't let you in before 5. Or at least the email from Duke Operations said they won't. :9f:

Duke has offered 2020 wide receiver John Humphreys (6'5" 205) from California. Yep, that name does sound familiar. He is Ben Humphreys' little brother. Too early to start a 2020 Recruiting Thread so I'll just throw it up here so we can discuss it while i'm drinking Daryl's beer Friday evening. He always shows up with my favorite brand - Other People's.

As is mentioned up-thread, we'll be pre-positioning on Thursday evening. And, if the creek don't rise, we'll begin limited tailgating OPs around 13:30-14:00.

If you want to hang, hit me via text/voice (919.931.7401) and we'll provide a SitRep.

How will they know I'm not there to visit a friend in the hospital? (that is what I tell them when I've been asked in the past)

Looking forward to this discussion AND Bob bringing some hand-crafted ales from the Tidewater area to share and compare. :D

Mild chance of rain now for some point during the day, so pack a poncho. (Hopefully will have cleared by game time.)

Green Family is home in Virginia safe and sound. Despite the lopsided score, I had a great time yesterday. Tailgate was awesome as always; the brisket was divine. Watching the game with good friends on a beautiful evening was a lot of fun.

Completely agree, Bob. Tailgate's like that make you sit back and realize why we love this program so much. Great weather, company, food, and beverages.

We lost to a team that was flat out better than us. Excited by how well our defense played for 90% of the game. Next week will be crucial in determining how good of a season this can be.

Will not be able to make it to FSU unless it's a night game. I guess we will find out on Monday!
