Vibes for CathyCA's mom

Per Cathy's post on Facebook

Mom fell at home and dislocated her left shoulder on Sunday morning. She also suffered a fracture in the surgical neck of her humerus. We spent most of Sunday at the E.D. at Vidant. Today, we are consulting with the orthopedic group at Duke. (Dr. Tee Moorman of this group performed Mom's right shoulder replacement surgery some years ago.) Mom is having some X-rays made now. It appears as though her neck was not injured in this fall--she had extensive surgery on it on February 28.

Everyone here loves Mom. She is the sweetest patient, greeting everyone with a smile and and asking them about their families, even though she is in excruciating pain.

I will report more when I know more.

Aww. . . thank you all for your kind thoughts, vibes and prayers! Mom got a Duke Sports Medicine sling and an appointment with her surgeon on August 1.

I'll keep you updated as we learn more.

It's been a tough weekend. Mom's BP is running high. She asked me to take her to urgent care on Friday evening. Those of you who know my mom know that she NEVER complains, and that she is always upbeat and positive, so her recent frame of mind has been quite the anamoly. Anywho, we've increased her BP meds, and that seems to be working (sort of). I've been with her all weekend except for 30 minutes on Friday evening when I ran home to grab a change of clothes.

She has her appointment with the surgeon at Duke on Tuesday. She needs to get this surgery scheduled and done.
