Re: LTE 2.0
Thanks for all the vibes and prayers and hugs and good wishes. Mom came home yesterday afternoon and had allegedly gone to church this morning.
She called last night. She felt awful. Shouldn't have gone home. So cold. So very cold.
I began to panic until she admitted that when she left the house she turned the thermostat to 50 so as not pay for heating the house while she was gone, which is why she was so cold. Once she and the house warmed up everything was better.

I'm glad that she was able to warm up the house and feel better!

Anybody got a quick cure for plantar fasciitis? I'm getting nowhere and the pounds are piling on since I can't get my walks in. This heel is killing me. It's a catch 22.

Have you rolled your foot over a frozen water bottle? Worn a boot to bed?Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Anybody got a quick cure for plantar fasciitis? I'm getting nowhere and the pounds are piling on since I can't get my walks in. This heel is killing me. It's a catch 22.

That last one seems weird to me but a lot of people swear by it. I had good success with a brace I bought off Amazon.
Good luck! It is extremely painful.

About 10 years ago I got it. Aleve for a couple of days and it disappeared. Advil for 3 or 4 days before that had no affect.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Anybody got a quick cure for plantar fasciitis? It's all in the shoes. I had a painful bout as well. Switched up my shoes to Danskos and Birkenstocks, and I bought a good arch support for my other shoes. That, in addition to the things mentioned previously, should help.

We took Mom to Durham on Saturday. She went to see "Something Rotten" at DPAC with her friend Jo. Then, we took both of them to Elmo's for an early dinner. On Sunday, I picked her up and took her to church. She was so happy to see all of her friends after being away for so long (6 weeks--ha ha ha--for most people, that's frequent church attendance!). Yesterday, her friend Sally picked her up and took her to circle meeting.
Mom is still in the neck brace, but she's down to Tylenol for the pain. She has another follow-up appointment with her surgeon in Charlotte next week. I imagine that she'll stay in the neck brace for another six weeks or so. As the weather gets warmer, that neck brace becomes more uncomfortable for Mom, so the next few weeks are going to be a "comfort challenge," rather than a pain challenge.
We appreciate all of the vibes and prayers that have been going her way!

Go to a good shoe place and get fitted for shoes and inserts. Go to 9th Street Active Feet in Durham or Fleet Feet, and get shoes to fit and inserts. The Berry inserts were a godsend to me.Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Doing all of the above. Thanks.

After trying multiple inserts, running shoes, Merrill clogs, etc, etc., turns out I'm most comfortable in my old Keen sandals. Though I have no idea what I'd wear to meet the prince at the ball.
