Good morning. Flooding and power outages from Smithfield to Wilson have cancelled my plans for the next three days. Was going to have dinner with Ozziedaughter tonight, but not now. They are without power still this morning.

Good morning! (It is still barely morning here.)

The courthouse is closed, the schools are closed, and our town is under a curfew due to the flooding. I helped to move residents out of the Cypress Glen Retirement community yesterday afternoon. I will not even comment on the absurdity of the town's enforcing the curfew, even as the river was rising, as we tried to help those poor elderly residents flee from the effects of the storm.

Pray for all those affected by Matthew. Although the winds and rains are gone, much of the damage from flooding is just beginning here.
