It is hot here. I miss the variability of late fall and early spring.

I think 18 of the last 20 days in Raleigh have been 90 degrees or more with dew points regularly in the low 70s, sometimes reaching 77. Probably not as disgusting/intolerable/oppressive as what you've got in Texas but it's been pretty unpleasant here. I'm ready for fall.

We've been hovering around 100 to 101 for the last three weeks. Normals are closer to 93-94. We may finally be catching a break, looks like the forecast for the next 10 days is 98-99.

It is hotter than Hades here on the island, as well.
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

It's not too bad on Emerald Isle. We're generally in the upper 80s and low 90s.

It's hot here too. I have spent the last two days mostly inside. I have been canning black berry jam and tomatoes. I have canned 45 pints of jam. They make
wonderful gifts.

Finally, rain, it's the first we have had in a month. So far, we have 1 1/2 inches. That's enough for now. It appears to be slowing down. :happy-bouncyblue:

The rain is a big help for out corn crop. It should be ready by the end of the week. We have seen not seen any action of squirrels in the garden and very little in the yard. I give Mikey most of the credit of keeping them out. Wish us luck.
