Brodhead Leaving

Probably not the correct response since I don't know who will replace him but: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :D :D :D :ymparty: :ymparty: :ymparty:

I'm not sure I can ever forgive his handling of the lacrosse case. I understood the cancelling of the season from a safety aspect - too many outside forces that could turn violent to be sure the student-athletes, opposing teams, and fans would be safe. (Not happy with it but understood.) I will never understand why the response from Allen Building wasn't that cooperation with the investigating authorities (within the law) was necessary but the players were innocent until proven otherwise. They should be safe in their rooms, houses, and, especially, in the classrooms. Not meeting with parents was wrong. I will always feel he threw the team and coach under a bus. Must have learned that from Roy.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

We've had a rough run of presidents between Keohane and Brodhead. Man. We need some better luck.

Grammatically speaking, there were no presidents between Nanerl and Dick. They were consecutive.

I wasn't fond of either one. Nan, because she was so anti-fraternity, and Dick, well, I always thought he was a bit of a weenie. :-o :duke:

I meant "between the two of them". Sorry, should have been more clear.

And I was there during Nan's reign. She wasn't just anti-greek, she was anti-socialization for all.

He even looks like his name, bless his heart. If I were drawing a muppet, that's where I'd begin my caricature.

The king is dead. Long live the king.

I'm hoping for somebody with common sense who is genuine and can relate to a variety of people beyond professors and high roller donors. ;;)

Good administrators are good leaders, leaders who have a quality called presence.

Me thinks he's even been given too much credit for fun raising. How much would have been raised ANYway? People give to Duke because they love and care about Duke, not Bonehead (bless his heart anyways)

A star in your crown for saying what many may be thinking. There are days I think of the Emperor's New Clothes while I read about university goings on. ;;)

The most unfortunate thing about this deposing is the timing. My class reunion is next April. No doubt King Richard will be the peacock making the rounds..... lingering longest with the Half Century Club and derailing our induction to celebrate his rein. ;;)

Dang! Perhaps you all could make a pact to ignore him. :))

I'm sure you could come up with an appropriate toast in his honor.
