August West raised an interesting question ....
.....during the Buffalo game. If the men's team is called the Bulls, what are the women called? You can't yell "Let's go Cows!"

The University of South Florida here in Tampa is also the Bulls. The women are the 'Lady Bulls'....which makes no sense but safer than calling them 'cows'

Wait, people from Kansas don't talk that way. But, of course, I've got no beef with it either.DukieInKansas wrote:August West wrote:I can get all the puns I need, (and them some), over yonder. AW.devildeac wrote:This is becoming udderly ridiculous, make no misteak about it.

That's a good goal because I believe you'd have great difficulty raising a Holstein...YmoBeThere wrote:One day I hope to raise an interesting beer stein.

Wouldn't the women's teams be called heifers rather than cows?
I think Heifers might be more technically correct. (Yes, I grew up on a cattle farm.)Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:My suggestion was "Bullettes". (Spell check is going nuts.)

I've always wondered about the University of Delaware. I think their men's teams are the Blue Hens. Shouldn't they be the Roosters? Or the Cocks?

This reminds me of my most local DI school. They use Dons for the men and Lady Dons for the women. I suppose in that case that using Donnas for the women does not make USF seem that intimidating.
