Brunch In Durham

Post by windsor » November 11th, 2015, 1:14 pm

After our orgy of sport (Sienna/Pitt/Bryant) I will be heading to the Blacksburg area of VA sometime Sunday.

I thought I might take Krysta and Amanda to brunch on Sunday - any recommendations for places in the area?

...and if anyone want to join us why that would be even better.

There may be fancier places but my vote goes to Elmo's - 776 9th St - Durham. Always busy but worth the wait! Wish I was going to be there with you!

So many options. Any thoughts on type of place - counter service, upscale, etc. We like Elmo's - diner-like, but with more unusual menu options.

Well that is TWO votes for Elmo's!! Diner like is fine by me. Checked out the menu...sounds like a winner to me!

I miss Elmo's! We used to frequent the diner when I was in PA school.

You definitely can't go wrong with Elmo's. If you feel like something more upscale, we had brunch with my cousin last weekend at the Washington Duke Inn, and it was SO GOOD, and not as pricey as you might expect, especially for the buffet: http://www.washingtondukeinn.com/getmed ... l2015.pdf/
