That ain't what Steven Tyler was referring to, nor the famous brand of t-shirts sporting the expression.

What's the over/under on how long it would've taken me to get banned from that other site for posting that?

I usually go out after playing ball, and a few of the guys have this habit of capping off their evening with an Irish Mist on the rocks. I tried it once. Reminded me of Diet Southern Comfort. Blech. Ptooey. Must be an Irish Philly thing or something. I don't get it and they can't 'splain me either.

It has long been my practice to avoid any drink that uses "Irish" in the title, or combines Guinness with any other beverage. Not only are you polluting a fan pint of Guinness by making a Black and Tan, but you're missing the obvious... Black and Tans and Irish don't mix well! The inventor of said concoction deserves an Irish Car Bomb (not the beverage).

Yeah, I was properly instructed about the social faux pas that is the "Black and Tan", especially when made with Guinness and (English) Bass Ale. If one is not in the mood for a proper pint of Guinness, then a "half and half" of Guinness and Harp might be an alternative.

It's not quite so bad as it might first appear. Guinness is one of the largest Protestant-owned businesses (might even be the largest) in all of Ireland.

The name is offensive regardless of religious affiliation of the Guinness family because it celebrates a rather dark period of Irish history.

Oh, I gotcha. I was still operating in the mode of defiling Irish beer with English beer. But yeah, you're totally correct.
