I'm sure you did, VDB. They came through Greensboro with vicious lightning during the Home Run Derby. We never lost power though.Very Duke Blue wrote:I hope the storms have stopped. I watched the Miss USA pageant on YouTube and fast forwarded through all the non competition stuff.
The Q&A is the best part!!!! Miss Oklahoma nailed both her interview questions, and she is the new Miss USA 2015. Miss Rhode Island and Miss Nevada had brain freeze on stage. Bless Their Hearts!

I am all geeked out over the PLUTO flyby.

New Horizons carries some of the ashes of Clyde Tombaugh, from Burdett, KS. He discovered Pluto and the Kuiper Belt at age 24. The ashes are in a canister that bears an inscription from Alan Stern, the head of the New Horizons mission: "Interned herein are remains of American Clyde W. Tombaugh, discoverer of Pluto and the solar system's "third zone." Adelle and Muron's boy, Patricia's husband, Annette and Alden's father, astronomer, teacher, punster, and friend: Clyde W. Tombaugh (1906-1997)."lawgrad91 wrote:You do know it's no longer a planet anymore, right? At least according to some people?windsor wrote:I am all geeked out over the PLUTO flyby.

There is a guy who is on trial for murder in Pitt County this week. His first name is "Jahrheel." My friend Ann is representing him. He is 19 years old.
Jahrheel. Rhymes with heel.

Two weeks from interview at Northwestern. Four weeks since I've heard anything at all from my former boss. The radio silence is deafening.
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.
