Metatarsal vibes

Post by windsor » February 23rd, 2015, 10:09 pm

For those not following along on Facebook...I rolled my ankle getting in the car to take Tyler to agility. Drove halfway and realized it was more than just a roll. X Ray shows broken bone not in ankle but in my foot. Splinted in the ER...check with ortho tomorrow. Vibes that is a simple break and like Elton Brand a few weeks in a boot and all is well.
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I am happy to take one for the team. Hopefully mine are the designated Duke Metatarsals for this year. Waiting for a call back from the ortho. Joy.

Knowing you, you could tie a bow on that dang cast and strut a runway, making everybody else wish they had one! So glad to hear it's no worse than you were fearing. Guess you're tired of all the "agility training" jokes by now, so I'll just shut up and continue vibing.

Once again the CTN Vibes come through - avulsion fracture with no separation and good alignment. I have an ugly ass orthopedic shoe (which is actually a funky looking sandal that shift my weight to the inside of the foot and off the wounded 5th metatarsal) Using crutches to bear some of the weight but walking with two feet on the ground. Frankly the f'ing crutches caused more discomfort than the ankle sprain or the fracture. No surgery. No plaster...not even a boot. All is well.

Thinkin' 'boutcha, Windsor, every time another Blue Devil goes down with an ankle. Okafor still looks a little gimpy to me and tonight Cook was hobbled for a while. He was in the highlight interview with Obi after the game though, which means he wasn't being treated so I guess he'll live to fight another day. MP3 gave us pause a couple of games ago. How's it going with your unfortunate R&R?
