How does it work? Here is a summary:bjornolf wrote:How much does it cost and how does it work?Lavabe wrote:So far, it's:

Hoping that colchar joins; given my victory last year, he would be the odds-on favorite. His two championships followed years in which I won.
I put out requests to Tilly and knights, although I know how busy they are. Anyone else want to try? The more, the merrier!
1) Each week, you will choose before qualifying 2 drivers from Group A (the best from last year), 4 drivers from Group B (middle tier), and 2 drivers from Group C (lower tier). Note that the Daytona 500 is an exception on this; you have until the race deadline to choose your drivers.
2) To help you with your picks, look at your roster page, and you will see above your picks links to race previews (before qualifying) and race notes (after qualifying but before the race deadline). These will be very helpful.
3) After qualifying is complete, choose before the race deadline from your collection of drivers: 1 driver from Group A, 2 drivers from Group B, and 1 driver from Group C. This will be your team during the race.
4) How to get points?
a) Qualifying: If a driver from your team qualifies in positions 1-4, you get points (10 1st, 5 2nd, 2 3rd, 1 4th). Note that this only applies if qualifying does not get rained out/assigned.
b) Race: If a driver from your race team leads a lap, you get 10 points.
c) Race: If a driver from your race team leads the most laps in a race, you get 10 points.
d) Race: Each driver on your race team will score a number of points, based on their position. If your driver finishes 1st, I believe you get 100 points. 2nd earns 98 points, etc...
5) RESTRICTIONS (very important)
a) Only select for your teams drivers that are entered for the race. For example, BORIS SAID is a Group C choice, but he is not entered for the Daytona 500. Boris only races the road courses (where you turn left AND right). So for the Daytona 500, DON'T SELECT BORIS SAID. Kurt Busch is suspended: DON'T CHOOSE KURT BUSCH.
b) If you choose someone for qualifying who is entered, but the driver does not qualify, you will see a DNQ next to the name on your roster. DON'T SELECT THAT DRIVER FOR YOUR RACE TEAM.
c) You only get to select a driver for a maximum of NINE races. If you have used up your allotment of picks for a driver, say Jeff Gordon, DON'T CHOOSE THAT DRIVER. You will get ZERO points.
That last rule is VERY important!
You will find that some drivers are really good on the restrictor plate courses, some are good on the road courses, some are good on short tracks, and some are good on the cookie-cutter tracks (which all have their own little issues). These are all discussed in the race notes/previews.
After qualifying, you will be able to see the qualifying teams of the others in the league. You will not be able to see their final race teams until after the race begins.
If anyone sees an issue in anything I said, please correct me.
