Interesting, yet you can watch NASCAR.
Can't follow NFL anymore because of the frequency, severity, and the sheer scale of medical and legal issues that follow the game. Some of it filters down into its developmental league, the NCAA. I'm tired of it. REALLY tired of it. No team is immune from these issues. Can't say that I've watched a full NFL game in years (except for Super Bowl watching the commercials). Can't say that I've watched a full NCAA football game in the last 18 months.

The NFL will rule the Pats didn't deliberately cheat, but the team will get a parking ticket, as the balls were underinflated. Pretty simple. If there's no fine, whoop dee frickin do. Oh, and here's a thought... maybe the NFL will respond by altering policy. Imagine granting the refs the capacity to REMOVE SUSPECT FOOTBALLS during the game, you know, so like it doesn't affect the game. 8-} In the meantime, anything that gets Bill Belichick to quote MY COUSIN VINNY AND physics is fine in my book. :D

Still waiting on definitive word from Bill Nye... :D

As for NASCAR, Ymo, at least it doesn't rely so much on colleges and universities to prop up the league. The sheer scale of media and legal issues is nothing like NFL... and well, in football-inflation level kinds of issues, when Chad Knaus misses a setup, the decision is made quickly, accurately, and that's that. Fine. Probation. Suspension sometimes. Done. Still haven't heard Chad Knaus quote MY COUSIN VINNY.

Bill Nye says in that clip, and I quote, "To really change the pressure, you need one of these, an inflation needle."

And it makes me want to cry. Because he's so very, very wrong. You need an inflation needle if volume and temperature remain constant, but only if volume and temperature remain constant. I like and admire Bill Nye. But being wrong like that on national television just gives ammunition to climate change deniers who want to claim he doesn't know what he's talking about.

And a physicist from the University of Toronto fails to agree with the Belichick school of physics.

And now there's this

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/20 ... flategate/

This whole thing was started by an NFL exec with a known beef against the Patriots? I'll take any odds you want to give me that he's the leak. And he may very well have leaked incorrect information.

If the whole thing is due to 1psi, we got nothing, cause 1psi CAN be explained by the weather. Given that Bob Kraft has publicly demanded an apology, the NFL could very well be in some tough shit. I sincerely doubt that exec keeps his job.

Well, nobody has accused me of being a TarHeel again, so, no? ;)

Behind the scenes I've actually gotten some support from more than just the awesome crazietalkers. And one guy who keeps sending me private messages trying to convince me that the owner of the Baltimore Ravens is a straightforward, honest man of integrity. I told him that I have no problems with him rooting for the Ravens. I don't expect him to like the Patriots and he should remain loyal to his team, but, if he gets to judge everything the Patriots do based on how he feels about Spygate, I get to judge everything the Ravens do based on how I feel about the Ray Lewis/Terrell Suggs/Ray Rice cases.

Well yes, that's exactly how I judge the Ravens.

Kind of like how Mara of the Giants did Washington and Dallas?

Yes, me too.

The only team I dislike more than the Ravens is the Steelers, for very similar reasons.

My least favorite team is any team with Vick on the roster...
...second place was occupied by any team with Tebow on the roster but that is a non issue now.

LeGarrette Blount is an ass wipe of epic proportions. Based not just on his years in Tampa, but regarding recent events you won't convince me he didn't get himself tossed off the Steelers because you know, why would you honor a contract. He is a scum ball and his off field behavior will eventually blow up. His presence moves the Patriots to my number two slot followed by the Redskins, Ravens and Seahawks.
