Duke at St. John's

Post by Bob Green » January 24th, 2015, 8:19 am

Will we zone the Johnnies? They shoot 31.8% from the bonusphere so I expect we will pack it in some to shutdown their 2 PT offense. St. John's plays a bunch of 6'4" to 6'6" guys so this will be a test for our defense. Who steps up on D for the Blue Devils? That is the key question in my mind. Winslow, Sulaimon or Matt Jones will need to shutdown whichever Redman has the hot hand.

A mere 9 point spread doesn't make me any way comfortable. OTOH it is New York, the city we like to "step around the heart of"!

Pull 'em through, Native. We'll watch for ya on the tube! Go Devils!

My prediction: Duke 74, St. John's 67. In other words, Vegas has Duke as a 7 points favorite with the over/under at 141.

That's damn good, Bob.

I'm going to buy a NC Lottery ticket tomorrow. Any ideas?

Not a clue!

And I'm willing to eat some crow. Marshall Plumlee was very good today.

I would like to think Lt. Plumlee's progress today was not an anomaly. ChipSlate and I were wondering at BWW if maybe the pressure is off him, somehow. He knows what he will be doing when he graduates; he will be on one team or another.
