Too bad Karl Hess didnt have the game today! He had it in for the wuffies. NO more Hess.

During the spring of 1986, my friend Chip was watching a Duke game in the Delta Sig section on campus. The chapter room was filled with eager pledges.

Hank Nichols made a terrible call, and Chip jumped up from his seat and yelled at the TV, "You suck, Nichols, you suck!" This went on each time Hank Nichols made a call against Duke.

Toward the end of the game, when it was apparent that Duke was going to be victorious, Chip asked one of the pledges why he wasn't showing much excitement about the game. "What's wrong? Are you sick or something?"

"No," the pledge said. "But you've been yelling at my dad the entire game, so I tried to stay out of your way."

That pledge was Jeff Nichols, a member of the class of 1989.

I'm glad his dad wasn't Dick, err, Richard Pooparo or Lenny Worst/Wirtz.

I told VDB I'm on call tonight and can't use her tix so I would be yelling and screaming during the game at home. She asked if I cussed any during the NCSU game and I told her I cussed so much that I ran out of words and had to start using c*rolina player names instead.
