Had a great opening, and an even better dinner with Julie, Cathy and Jon. Chef & The Farmer was way fun, we've decided that fried collards need to make a tailgate menu.

We had so much fun! It was interesting to speak with the artists, to be able to ask questions about the art, and to learn more about their techniques, their inspiration, and the background stories behind their subjects. So often, I stand in front of a piece of art and I wonder how the artist did it, who or what inspired the artist, and I wanted to know what was REALLY going on when that moment was captured. You know, sort of like, I wonder why Mona Lisa is smiling? In Chris's painting "Reach," I now know what the lady was reaching for.
Of course, my favorite artist there was CB&B, but there were other wonderful artists, there, too.
Dinner was fabulous! I enjoyed my pork belly skewers, the fried collards and the shrimp and grits. We MUST have fried collards at a tailgate. They are de-LUSCIOUS! Did I mention that we had so much fun with Chris and Julie?

Our show has been extended through the end of August, which is awesome. I've sold two so far, both are portraits, which is always exciting since it is so rare that anyone buys a painting of someone they don't know.
Two other artists have sold one painting each, hoping we all get more sales by the time it comes down.
These are the two that have sold.
