At this point, I would like to thank windsor for singlehandedly bringing back from deep storage the name of someone I had filed away in the deep recesses of my mind. Really... Ivory Latta? Geez... I thought I had forgotten that person. :ymsigh:

It was mpossible not t think of her watching the France/Hondoras match.

It is also clear that Lavabe needs to watch more women's hoops - she's an assistant with the tarholes - right there on end of the bnech teaching the next generation how to flop around like a bass in the bottom of a boat.

Thank you, Windsor. I needed a chuckle right about now.

I hear tell that Portugal tomorrow has a player named Christiano Ronaldo. Is he any good?

I should also mention that until recently the Rev. Lawgrad had a Lionel Messi action figure taped to the top of the television. Not quite sure where he went but he's still somewhere in a place of honor, no doubt. :9f:

Apparently in the off season Karl Hess is a FIFA ref.

What a performance by USA and Ghana! Amazing how the USA pulled it out. Tim Howard was stellar in goal. The question remains just how injured or bothered the US is after this game. Fortunately, their chance to play Portugal occurs as one of Portugal's players must sit out, due to a stupid, dumb red card. Unfortunately, I guess we should assume that Altidore is out of the tourney with a hamstring issue.

Go USA!!

Amazing how soccer players can get kicked in one leg and grab the other one like it's been subject to amputation. :9f:

I am sure that our players do this at some point, but I didn't see it yesterday. A few grimaces, but no full on "death due to shin kicking" rolls. The Ghana players were artists at those, however.

Adios, Spain!! Of course, some wonder whether or not Spain ever arrived in Brazil. The 6 year hegemony is OVER.

Bye bye, Australia! At least you showed up for one of your games.
