I do not watch a lot of soccer but I have been watching the WC. I have concluded that Ivory Latta played the wrong sport. Her ability to flop on the ground and writhe in agony as though a limb had been severed (and the miraculous recovery seconds later) would fit right in.

At this point, I would like to thank windsor for singlehandedly bringing back from deep storage the name of someone I had filed away in the deep recesses of my mind. Really... Ivory Latta? Geez... I thought I had forgotten that person.

I should also mention that until recently the Rev. Lawgrad had a Lionel Messi action figure taped to the top of the television. Not quite sure where he went but he's still somewhere in a place of honor, no doubt.

What a performance by USA and Ghana! Amazing how the USA pulled it out. Tim Howard was stellar in goal. The question remains just how injured or bothered the US is after this game. Fortunately, their chance to play Portugal occurs as one of Portugal's players must sit out, due to a stupid, dumb red card. Unfortunately, I guess we should assume that Altidore is out of the tourney with a hamstring issue.

I am sure that our players do this at some point, but I didn't see it yesterday. A few grimaces, but no full on "death due to shin kicking" rolls. The Ghana players were artists at those, however.
