I don't think 8,000 is a special plateau of PW, but it would be closer to 10,000 than I am now.

We are signing Wesley up for puppy class beginning in July at the Winston Salem Dog Training Club, a place Windsor recommended.

The family dog of my youth was a poodle. Minature, but she was as big as she could be and still be classified as a minature. 14" at the shoulder I believe. And about 18 lbs.(she got a little heavy).

Re: LTE 2.0
Only one member of the family, the one who can never remember to pick up his shoes (hint: there are three males in the house, and Wesley and Merlin don't wear shoes), has had a problem with Wesley chewing his shoes and shredding his insoles.

Re: LTE 2.0
I've never had a poodle. We had little dogs when I was growing up, a Boston terrier mix and a chihuahua. My favorite book when I was little was called, "My Dog, My Friend." I think Mom still has it.

Ymo, I seem to remember you talking about your Miniature poodle. You were very fond of her, I think. Did you have cats growing up, too?YmoBeThere wrote:The family dog of my youth was a poodle. Re: LTE 2.0
I always wanted a big dog, so once I got out on my own I adopted Cert the pit bull mix. I had him 15 years. It broke my heart to put him down, and I buried him in a Duke blanket since he got me through so many close games and three national championships. Three days later I found Merlin on petfinder.com. He has been with me 10 years in September. And now Wes is here. Between them they are almost 100 pounds of dog.

And I mustn't neglect Sasha the mini-schnauzer, who rules the roost.

No cats, just the poodle. My father isn't a huge fan of pets.lawgrad91 wrote:Ymo, I seem to remember you talking about your Miniature poodle. You were very fond of her, I think. 10" and under is a Toy, 10" to 15" is a mini and anything over 15 is a standard. Generally standards are well over 20 inches, people sometimes call dogs in the 15-20 ranges 'moyen', very small toys 'tea cup' and standards over about 27" Imperial but those are not 'real' designations.YmoBeThere wrote:The family dog of my youth was a poodle. Re: LTE 2.0
Stepdaughter has an apricot toy poodle named Wellington, after the bear. He does look like a teddy bear. I wasn't happy about her getting a dog from a breeder in CA and spending a ton of money to fly him to Raleigh when there are lots of great dogs that need homes here, but she got money when her grandfather passed and wanted to do something special with it.windsor wrote:10" and under is a Toy, 10" to 15" is a mini and anything over 15 is a standard. My friend Kim (a local attorney) posted on FB that a client came to court yesterday with a T shirt that read "one day I will give a shit. Today is not that day."
