Open seat on the Bench
With Wojo stepping up and out, we've got an open chair. In my fantasy world I would like to see Battier or Hill but I think both of htem have bigger plans.

Re: Open seat on the Bench
Jon Scheyer has moved up a chair. You gotta think that whoever takes his spot has to be willing to be the low man, once again. I can't see Hill or Battier doing it, but you never know. I remember when JD first came back to Duke, after playing in the NBA. Know what his job was? It wasn't on the bench, it was working in the ticket office. That is a serious demotion! (And one that paid off, bigtime.)
I don't see anyone from outside of Duke coming in for such a low spot, as in current assistants or recently fired HC's, so my guess is we stick to someone in the family. I would love to see Carrawell back. He's been on both the women's and the men's benches, and for the last three years has been working as an assistant in the D-League.

In a perfect universe? Battier. In a slightly-less-perfect-but-still-totally-awesome universe? Christian.
In the real world? My (completely uneducated) guess is Carrawell.

OY has a post saying that J-Will is considering the position. I had not thought about him at all; he would also be a fine choice.

Makes a lot of sense that it would be JWill., bless his heart. But, would it hurt to add Battier or Christian or BOTH? I'm not greedy or anything.

You are limited in how many coaches you can have - at least in the number than can perform actually on floor coaching/recruiting and be on the bench at games. You have as many 'other' coaches as you want (strength coach, fitness coach, shoe tying coach...)Ima Facultiwyfe wrote:Makes a lot of sense that it would be JWill., bless his heart. J Williams would be a great choice, if that is an option!!!!
Any of the former national champions ( J Will, Christian, Shane) would be a great choice to the Coaching Staff!!!

Every time I see this thread title, I think, "The Supreme Court has a vacancy?"

I guess the Open position will be made after the Final 4.
If in fact, it is J Will, he is busy with the Final 4.

Re: Open seat on the Bench
Carrawell hired as one of Wojo's assistants at Marquette today. Interesting, but not unexpected. Good luck to him!
