The Craziness of Basketball Around the World

Post by awhom111 » March 4th, 2014, 12:06 am

I guess I could have put it in my other thread, but this is kind of its own topic. Former Duke player Jamal Boykin has been playing overseas in Ukraine. With the recent protests, a number of games were cancelled. Now most of the teams in the eastern region of the country have let a number of players (including former Tar Heel Marcus Ginyard) leave, but Jamal's team is away from the Russian border and has started playing again. Vibes to him and all of the other people caught in the crossfire. Hopefully he makes whatever is the right choice for him this season and hope that he and all of the other players affected can continue to work in basketball for the rest of the season to provide for their families.

Big time vibes to all the players in the Ukraine - safety is more important than BB.

Update on this. Jamal has still been playing in Ukraine, possibly making him the last foreign player left. He has found a new home for the rest of the season in the same country as another Duke player:
