Looking forward to them, as well as hoping the games go without any security issues.

Re: Olympics 2014
I love the Olympics. I am really concerned for our people and all who will be there. I know this is harsh, but I would rather see us (USA) not go. That's not going to happen. All I can do is pray, hope and vibe. Of course, I will be watching and pulling for our USA!!CameronBornAndBred wrote:Looking forward to them, as well as hoping the games go without any security issues.

I'm also pulling once again for the Jamaican bobsled team, now that they have the cash to go.

I'm hoping that the Bo-Dyn Project bobsleds do wonders. I'm also hoping that Lolo wins a medal.

My dirty little Olympic secret: I do love me some curling.
All that is gold does not glitter, not all those who wander are lost; the old that is strong does not wither, deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I watch it, too! Of course, I try to watch some of every sport during the Olympics. I used to play indoor soccer with someone that was as good (bad ?) about watching the Olympics as I was. We drove the team nuts talking about Georg Hackl (the flying sausage). Since he was medaled in 5 consecutive Olympics - we got to talk about him a lot.
Life is good!

I know exactly who you mean.
I'm sure you also discussed Eddie the Eagle...

Not as much - since he never medaled and he may have been before I joined that particular soccer team.windsor wrote:DukieInKansas wrote:windsor wrote:My dirty little Olympic secret: I do love me some curling.

Okay, in terms of Olympic sport fashion, you got to love the artist's work on Katie Uhlaender's helmet for skeleton racing:

Paging CathyCA: Is Ralph Lauren designing Christmas sweaters or uniforms for the US Olympic team?

But probably not the Ugly Outfit Contest. The Norwegian curling team has a corner on that market.

Re: Olympics 2014
They'll look good for the opening ceremonies. After that, they'll look like ugly Christmas sweaters. I like them. They are sturdy and well-constructed, and with RL colors, which just happen to be red, white and blue. Ordinarily, you wouldn't find this type of sweater in a RL collection, but for the opening ceremonies, they'll be fine. Also, they are made in the USA.Lavabe wrote:Paging CathyCA: Is Ralph Lauren designing Christmas sweaters or uniforms for the US Olympic team?

I love the Germans' uniforms. Their design is brilliant!

Curling is freakin' awesome. I've played countless times (I really need to join a curling club) and watch it on TV all the time (it is on regularly here).

Nice... the athletes are literally coming out of their countries (there's a superimposed map of their countries aimed right at the entrance). But CATHY... check out the headwear of the women bearing the name of each country ... BIZARRO!!
