Vibes for Sasha, please. We just got back from the vet. She has been favoring her back leg, so we took her to get looked at today. The vet said it could be arthritis, or it could be a torn ACL. He said her ACL seemed okay but she was too tense for him to be sure. He gave us some anti-inflammatory meds for her and wants her to come back next week for an X Ray when she can be sedated.

Wesley was just there for his snip-snip; at this rate the Walkertown Veterinary Hospital will have a "Lawgrad Wing." :O3 :O3 :O3
Special vibes from Vesper, Winston, Spencer and Moneypenny, as well as the rest of the Galore clan for Sasha. :o3 :o3 :animals-cat: :animals-cat:

do you have her on glucosamine?

It works pretty well in canines too
No, but the vet recommended it today. I will get it from the drug store this evening.

My dishwasher is nearly full. My only question is when can I expect them back? Cleaned of course.

I took Wesley out in the back yard for his first real game of fetch just now.

Apparently "give Mommy the toy" translates into his doggie dialect into, well, nothing, and "I'm going to play with Sasha" translates into "give Mommy the toy." :O3

WE had an excellent Blue Devil Club luncheon yesterday with Coach K as the speaker.

Last night, at Washington Duke Inn, the Duke Football Banquet! The food was excellent, as always, and so nice to see the room filled to capacity. All of the Football team, dressed in their suits and looking handsome.

The Victory Bell was in the foyer of the President's Ballroom, along with all the Senior plaques. The Bell was rung over and over at the end of the program!!!!

Coach Cut received another Coach of the Year award this past week. It was a great way to end the 2013 season, with a great Football program and dinner last night!!!!!

ArkieDukie, I read this article this morning and I thought of you:

Wow. So similar. And not that dissimilar to the "research" done by Mary Willingham on the carolina athletes' reading ability, or lack thereof. Unc is disputing her research as flawed. :9f:

What a well-written article! I (think) I even understood it. A pretty good argument in favor of tenure for profs. Someone trying to hold onto a job has a hard time bringing this stuff to the fore. Can't wait until Monday for episode two.

Wow. Thanks for the link, Cathy. Fascinating stuff. Amazing what people will do to cover up their own mistakes. Much of this is motivated by the difficulty in getting funding for research. It plays a major role in determining who gets tenure in the sciences, and some people are willing to lie to achieve their professional goals.
Most people say that is it is the intellect which makes a great scientist. They are wrong: it is character.

I spit coffee all over the Sunday School room this morning.

An older lady in the class was fussing about unc, her alma mater, which had gotten away from their true academic focus and gone too heavily into sports. It was quiet for a second, and then a very quiet gentleman leaned forward and asked, "Is it true they are playing the rest of their games this year in Central Prison?" :9f:
