A true freshman QB from Monroe High School (Jamison Crowder & Isaac Blakeney are from Monroe). He has good size and speed. OlympicFan over on DBR says Chambers is the heir apparent to take over from Connette in the "Phantom" role down the road.CameronBornAndBred wrote:Who? I like him. There are a lot of good tidbits of information in the article so it is definitely worth a read.“Quay is just exceptional as an athlete,” head coach David Cutcliffe said. “The great part of having an athlete like that is you learn as a quarterback, and you have to know everybody’s assignment. At this point, Quay is probably proficient enough to play in the slot or to play our movable position that we play.”

What a pleasure it is to have a dedicated and able beat writer covering Duke football! I found the read option article that I linked OY from Laura Keeley's twitter feed. (The article is really outstanding; you folks should give it a read.)

The remainder of Training Camp is closed to the media so information will be much harder to come by leading up to kick-off against NCCU. The 3rd and final scrimmage is scheduled for today.

According to a post, on TDD, today's scrimmage was cancelled. No amplifying information was provided but quick speculation includes:
* Coach Cutcliffe is worried about injuries
* Coach Cutcliffe is satisfied with the team's play and can finalize the depth chart while observing normal practice
* The scrimmage will happen later in the week

They all sound legit, but would a coach really cancel a scrimmage due to worry about injury? That seems a bit wimpy for football. And while we did have two injuries recently reported, there haven't been the numbers that we saw last year at this time. (Knock on wood, a lot)

And that's why they practice!! Sounds like they are working hard and having fun. Very cool."I didn't know a dang thing," Braxton said, laughing. "I was running the wrong route. I think I had at least 12 mental errors. I was messing up real bad, but I got in my playbook and now I know most of my stuff."
