Lindy's tabbed five Blue Devils for preseason All ACC honors:

1st Team: Ross Cockrell and Will Monday

2nd Team: Ross Martin, Brandon Connette

3rd Team: Dave Harding

Connette is a surprise as is the absence of Laken Tomlinson.

ESPN Weak & Strong:

http://espn.go.com/blog/acc/post/_/id/5 ... trong-duke

The article list Duke's strongest position as offensive line, which I agree with. Over the three Preseason All ACC lists, I have seen (Phil Steele, Athlon and Lindy's), Duke has placed three different offensive lineman: Laken Tomlinson (twice), Perry Simmons and Dave Harding. One must factor in that Takoby Cofield and Lucas Patrick played hurt in 2012 so their preseason value is underrated. Matt Skura at center is the only question mark simply due to a lack of experience. It is impossible for me not to be very optimistic about our O-line performance in 2013.

Moving on, the running game operating behind our strongest position has an opportunity to be the best in a long, long time. However, I do not think we will catch teams by surprise. While the media isn't giving our backs any credit, I believe opposing coaching staffs understand the quality in Josh Snead, Jela Duncan and company plus running QBs Boone and Connette.

Snead rushed for 107 yards in the Belk Bowl!

I'm not surprised by Connette, he can be a deciding factor in games, and I am sure we will see a lot of him this year, much to our opponents dismay. Did Tomlinson play last year? I know he did in 2011, and he started all 12 games, but his bio on GoDuke http://www.goduke.com/ViewArticle.dbml? ... EASON=2012
says that he only has 12 career games.
Duke born, Duke bred, cooking on a grill so I'm tailgate fed.

I believe that the bio was written prior to the 2012 season.
