Happy Birthday, Michael!
Today is my little fella's fourth birthday. Just wanted to let him see his name up in lights on here. We had an amazing picnic for him at Leesylvania State Park up here in NoVA. It was gorgeous. Right at 80, LOW humidity, slight breeze. The river looked gorgeous with all the boats on it. We got a picnic area RIGHT next to the playgrounds. The burgers, dogs, and sausages all came out PERFECT, despite the fact that I hadn't used charcoal in a decade. Everybody had fun, no major boo-boos. I didn't even get hit this year when we busted the pinata (first time THAT'S happened). Erica's EVE cake turned out perfect (there are no EVE cakepans out there, but Michael wanted EVE, so she took a ladybug cakepan and made an EVE out of it...it was pretty impressive. I'll put up a picture when I have time.) Today, we're probably gonna take him to CiCi's for pizza for lunch, cause that's his fave.
Anyway, just wanted to say:
HAPPY FOURTH BIRTHDAY, MICHAEL!!!

I suggest that you consider a second look at the darker shades of blue for a possible new favorite color.

Here's the cake. Now, remember, this was made from a Ladybug pan. I thought it was pretty well done for freehand.

Well, they're called stars, and she has a frosting tip for that. It took her about an hour or so, I'd guess. Figuring it out and planning it and doing the outline was what was so time consuming for her.cl15876 wrote:GREAT JOB! How long it take for you to put each little dimple/drop of frosting on that! Re: Happy Birthday, Michael!
One time some fans sent a cake to the basketball office. Naturally, it was iced in Duke Blue. We all (coaches and staff) ate the cake and giggled at how blue our lips, tongues and teeth had turned.devildeac wrote:Happy Birthday , young fella. The next day I had quite a surprise.
I didn't ask anyone else if they had the same surprise.
I was too embarrassed to mention it.

I hope somebody took a picture of Michael with blue lips! He sure has a smart mommy. She should go on "Ace of Cakes". Which one in your picture is Michael?
Birthday hugs from Hippy Hill, Mike.

Yep, I had the same surprise after helping consume a huge chocolate chipe cookie decorated with Duke blue icing which read, "Go To Hell carolina!" The surprise the next day was lime green !! I felt fine though.CathyCA wrote:One time some fans sent a cake to the basketball office. Naturally, it was iced in Duke Blue. We were eating corn on the cob the other day with a friend, who said: "Thanks for the sweet flavor, Mr. Corn. See you tomorrow!"DukePA wrote: Yep, I had the same surprise after helping consume a huge chocolate chip cookie decorated with Duke blue icing which read, "Go To Hell carolina!"
