Funny how often people here on the hump dump assume we who live amongst them are "one of their own". I ran into an acquaintance at Southern Season yesterday who started moaning and groaning about how they are making a mountain out of this mole hill for "all of US" and asked what I thought of "our" chancellor being made to step down. I responded that a lot of people have to fall on their swords in an attempt to arrange a massive cover up. She walked away confused. Doesn't know what to make of me at all anymore, bless her self absorbed little heart.

I enjoyed it. Somebody should slap me. :)

What none of these stories ever mentions is that the vast majority of "students" availing themselves of Swahili independent study were not athletes. They prop up an awful lot of other people in order to insure their success, too. That's what Martin's veiled remark that "this was an academic problem, not an athletic problem" no doubt meant. But, it would be political suicide to delve into that.
