The answer was yes!
Now for the fun of BM's response. Hopefully I will be pleasantly surprised.

Second, even though BM sucks dirt, I wonder if you can put a bug in your bosses ear to direct BM to any ESL (English as a Second Language) resources on campus or nearby. You can think of it this way -- even though this would make BM's life better, any language improvement would mean you don't have to read the gawd awful stuff she currently pulls together.
I was an ESL instructor in grad school and I edited for researchers and I can guess what the gawd awful is like.

You know, O Fellow Texan, that's not a bad idea. I'll try to think of a diplomatic way to mention this to my colleague. I'm not sure how well BM would handle such a suggestion, but my colleague can probably think of a good way to spin it.bluebutton wrote:First a huge YAY!!!DukePA wrote:CONGRATULATIONS!!! No real reaction from BM. Either she didn't notice that I'm now sharing first authorship or her boss had a little chat with her. Hopefully she'll keep it civil; the working environment is much better when she's dialing back the one-upsmanship.
