Tilly's new car
Yesterday, K68 and I drove to Fredericksburg, VA so I could trade in my 98 Volvo for an 09 Hyundai Elantra. The Volvo has been having more and more problems and costing me more and more money, so decided it was time for a new car. Ordinarily, I would buy a used car, but with new cars going for much lower prices than they normally would, I decided to buy a new car. The reason we went to Fredericksburg is, the dealer up there was willing to knock off $3500 for the car. Too bad for the dealer on 15-501.
A big THANK YOU to Ozzie. I gave me a lot of great insight about Hyundai's.
Here is a picture of me adding the first decoration to the new car. P.S. One of the managers was a Hole. On an internal document that required my sig, he wrote "Go Tar Heels." I, naturally, wrote back, "Go to Hell Carolina, Go to Hell."

That is sooo cool and congrats. Love the inaugral sticker. Got a GTHC on there too?

I'm still thinking about it. Not sure I want to roll into the church parking lot with a "GTHC" sticker on my car.CameronBornAndBred wrote:That is sooo cool and congrats. Love the inaugral sticker. Got a GTHC on there too?

I wonder if I send Hyundai this note they'll send me some of that marketing money they'd be advertising  , even though I didn't buy a new car (still driving my 2007 Sonata - it's almost broken in with 48,200 miles on it). Still not a thing on it has needed servicing (other than oil changes and new tires last month).

Congratulations on the new car.
Had you driven north for 30 more minutes, you could have shown off your car in person to cl15876 and to bjornolf.

Congrats. Wish I'd known you were coming to Fredericksburg. Bone man and I could have driven down to meet you guys for lunch or something. We're only about 35 minutes north of there.

Given Tilly's dislike of Kyle Busch, I just KNEW that she wasn't getting a Toyota. ;)

Maybe there's a 9F sticker out there?

As I have a Hyundai, I certainly hope to have many miles of Happy Motoring. If the car breaks down, I'm sending you the bill. ;) ;)OZZIE4DUKE wrote:You're welcome! Thanks!
By the time we left, I was ready to hit the road and go home. It took us a little over 3 hours to get there, spent 6 hours there and out to lunch. By 5:00 p.m., when we hit the road, I was so ready to get home.

I had considered a Toyota, but Hyundai, and especially the Elantra, fit all my criteria.
I have received a number of emails from a local Toyota dealer, today he asked if he could have done anything more to have gained my business. Considered telling him that if Blech Busch didn't drive a Toyota I would have considered a Toyota. But, decided against it.

Forgot to mention, I have a shark fin on the roof. True, it's the antenna for the radio, but I call it my shark fin.
