Impressive finish by Bobby Labonte.
MMartin slipped badly... I believe he had a late pit with a mechanical issue.
JG nice race.
Some bad tire issues for Biff, but he still pulled a 4th.
JJ also blistered tires... on his last lap, he blistered a tire, and RAN OUT OF GAS on the last turn... he coasted home.

It was on father's day, that's kinda cool.
Duke born, Duke bred, cooking on a grill so I'm tailgate fed.
Re: NASCAR 2012
I won this week?
JUNIOR Won this week? Hot diggity!
As for my win, gosh, I dont know what to say.
I'd like to first thank the academy, and then to my sweetie for supporting me during my racing slump.
And lastly a huge thanks to Junior, to whom helped me smoke the competition this week.
Alas I know this is only one week but danggit all, Junior helped me score. I just dont believe it.
Good for him, good for me! lol

Re: NASCAR 2012
Bummed that we missed the race. Too many sporting and special events going on yesterday.
I've quietly moved up to the Top 5. I'm two weeks behind that goal, now I've got to make up some ground with my sites set on the Top 3!

Re: NASCAR 2012
Summary: Bowyer wins, followed by Smoke, a choked up KuBusch, and Brian Vickers. Jj, Jg, and Ambrose made the Top Ten. JPM, Said, and other road course specialists sucked.
In fantasy, I now trail Ymo by 8 pts, but colchar now needs 101 pts to take the lead. Our Canadian prognosticator won this week. Congrats, eh!
Elsewhere in Fantasy, knights has now passed Tilly.
Next race ... Kentucky!

New parking, new 7 lane road... I don't know if that will work, but it's a start. My guess is that it will still be tough, but not as bad as last year.YmoBeThere wrote:Hopefully people will be able to make it into the track this year!

Re: NASCAR 2012
Blockbuster move... Kenseth is moving away from Roush Racing at the end of the year. Roush is replacing him with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (Nationwide). Speculation is that Kenseth may go to Joe Gibbs Racing... then again, there's also speculation that KuBusch might go there as well.
Bizarre move. Kenseth is a points leader type of racer. Roush was unable to get a good sponsorship deal for Kenseth to replace the Crown Royal deal he had. IMHO, this move SUCKS for Roush.
Wow!

KuBusch to Gibbs?!? Are you serious?!? What the hell is Joe Gibbs smoking? He needs to get his money back.Lavabe wrote:Blockbuster move... Re: NASCAR 2012
Now that Logano is racing well, Gibbs only has room for one new driver, along them a four-car team. Kenseth makes sense. The only way he takes KuBu is to calm down Blech, but Kenseth must be considered the front runner.TillyGalore wrote:Kurt Busch to Gibbs?!? Are you serious?!? What the hell is Joe Gibbs smoking? I really hate iTouch auto spell. "along" replaced "making."Lavabe wrote:Now that Logano is racing well, Gibbs only has room for one new driver, along them a four-car team. Kenseth makes sense. Expect soaring temperatures over the weekend. I expect lots of issues at the race this weekend... mostly health/heat/water issues. It's a Saturday night race, thankfully. If it was a Sunday afternoon race, we'd have people dropping like flies.

Kenseth is a smarter choice. I don't see the busches calming each other down, and I definitely don't see kubusch calming down. He certainly hasn't calmed down under his new owner.Lavabe wrote:Now that Logano is racing well, Gibbs only has room for one new driver, along them a four-car team. Kenseth makes sense. I agree that Kenseth makes sense. As for KuBu:TillyGalore wrote:Kenseth is a smarter choice. I don't see the busches calming each other down, and I definitely don't see kubusch calming down. 1) KuBu's postrace interview MAY be evidence of a change. I certainly hope so.
2) His late challenge of Bowyer, was mentioned with respect by several other drivers... and Steve Addington.

As for other changes, I see MWR booking Brian Vickers for next year.
But really, I think the driver to watch is Dinger. Sonoma was his first decent race, but he needs to show a Joey Freakin Logano turnaround for his season.

Re: NASCAR 2012
One day does not equal total turn around. In time, KuBu will be challenged when he's pissed off and he'll react like his usual self. While we all know I'd love to see the bu's fail, KuBu will bring himself down and in due time. He has not changed.Lavabe wrote: I agree that Kenseth makes sense. As for KuBu:
