Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Half way good morning. The good half: it's gorgeous here at the lake and after doodling around with methods of painting masses of green in landscapes to suit me, I finally had some success and would love to practice more. The bad half is that I have to fold the tents and head back to Crappy Hell just when I was getting started. My life is far too staccato!

I'm Harrumphing for tomorrow morning. I just called "the number" and they need my services for jury duty (Superior Court) tomorrow morning. If I don't get out of it, someone's gonna fry!

Or, better yet, take charge and straighten out the mess that goes on at your county courthouse.

Good Morning. Why did I wake up at 5 am? Potentially long Wednesday.
Good luck with the jury thing Ozzie.

Let's hear it for the PAs! I see PAs at my OB/GYN and at my GP. Also, one of my favorite people on the planet is a PA! (I think most of you all know her!)lawgrad91 wrote:Harumph.

A big reason I wanted to go to a PA is cuz of our favorite PA!CathyCA wrote:Let's hear it for the PAs! I see PAs at my OB/GYN and at my GP. Also, one of my favorite people on the planet is a PA! (I think most of you all know her!)lawgrad91 wrote:Harumph.

Home from seeing the PA. New BP med that (hopefully) won't give me a dry, hacking cough like the old one did.

Re: The Official "Good Morning" Thread
Went this morning and surprise, surprise, the case was a civil case, not criminal. I was one of the first 12 called to the jury box, seat #6. It was a case from the Wilmington area, a condo association in Carolina Beach suing a condo owner over the condo fees, or lack of paying thereof. Two Smithfield area law firms, the two BIG ONES, were representing both sides, and I knew the lawyer for the defense, the first named senior partner, and the firm for the association (but not the actual lawyer, one of their "underlings"). After several questions from both, the senior lawyer dismissed me for cause because of our "close personal relationship". Well, he did our wills 30 years ago, and he knows our family, and he's done work for my in-laws for years, but nothing else for us, but I'll take the out and say "Thank you!"CameronBornAndBred wrote:Good morning! I would have been fair, but without knowing any facts of the case, I probably would have sided with the association and required the couple to pay their dues owed unless there were extremely unusual circumstances. Got to be fair to the other owners too - they'd be saddled with an assessment to cover the shortcoming from these folks skipping out on their obligation. Sort of like tailgating!
