I thought Arkie was going to create this thread once she got the new job. When I first saw this thread, I gave out a primal scream, figuring Arkie had made it official. :ymapplause: :ymapplause:

Oh well. :ymsigh:

Hopefully Arkie will let us all know VERY SOON. :-ss

Perhaps she could create the official "FU PHB" thread. ;)

You know, the thread creator's name is listed under the thread title, I'm surprised you were surprised. I just wanted to help AD and TG (and DWP2.0 too) along and get their good news posted faster!

Yeah, I'll let AD create the "FU PHB" thread, and I'm pretty sure LG will post in it too... maybe. ;)

Now would I post in a thread titled "FU PHB"? :ymblushing:

Well, yeah, probably so.

Hey, in four years, ten months and eight days I could need THIS thread.

Tomorrow could be the day. I don't have the official offer in-hand, but the UTMB folks started the intent to hire paperwork. Tentative start date is March 1. Subtracting back, last day with PHB would be 2 weeks before that. I'm planning one week here to tie things up; one week there to unpack and get settled. Oh, and did I mention I went out on a limb and filled out the paperwork for an apartment in Galveston? Is that Johnny Paycheck I hear? :ymdevil:

And remember that February has 29 days this year. :-B
You were the last person they interviewed? How many did they bring in?
I hope this means that your initial concerns about salary have been addressed. :-ss

Sounds great! So I take it that when the job is offered, you're going to accept it!?!?

If you're giving PHB 2 weeks notice and want to spend a week there, wouldn't you need to give notice 3 weeks before March 1? That's only 2 weeks from now! :happy-bouncyblue: B-) :duke:

:romance-grouphug: For some reason the final scene of the Mary Tyler Moore Show just came to mind. The one with the big group hug that had everybody moving across the floor en masse. Only I see it on the FIRST day Arkie walks INTO her new job. I feel like we should ALL walk in with her in one big amoeba-like glob! I know none of us wants to miss it!

Just some sage advice...before you give notice have your ducks in a row, your PC cleared of personal stuff...anything you wish to forward home forwarded. In other words, be prepared to have the moment you give notice be your last moment in the lab.

Stranger things have happened...and more and more giving notice gets you walked out the front door (with your two weeks severence paid).

If you have a FSA medical spending account burn up as much as you can (those accounts a prefunded) before your last working day.

Today was the big day. About 30 min after receiving the official offer from UTMB-Galveston, I walked into PHB's office and said, "Well, it took a while, but I received a job offer this afternoon." His response was, "Congratulations. When will you be starting the new job?" No argument, nothing. No big surprise. My last day with PHB is 2 weeks from tomorrow. :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:
