He does, however, utter one of the great lines in television history in the Slap-Chop (small countertop hand operated kitchen chopper) commercial, with...wait for it..."You're gonna love my nuts."

Steve McNair shot dead at age 36. This is getting ridiculous.

Just heard (watching the golf) that Steve McNair was found shot to death. That is horrible.

Believe it or not, all of these deaths have lifespans in the news cycle. I was able to follow these deaths without much issue.

On the other hand, have any classical musicians, former politicians, or former B-list celebrities slipped by the obituary wire?

Umm... here's one that I can't figure out, and needs some explanation. /:)

I see advertisements now for some sort of "Cash for Clunkers" program. Would someone please explain this? Sounds interesting. We have a 95 Nissan Altima and a 96 Nissan Maxima. Do we qualify?

Thanks,
Lavabe

Probably not - if a vehicle gets a combined 19 mpg or more, you are SOL. They have revised the mileage ratings a couple of years ago and posted them online, so you can enter your vehicle and determine what you've got. I'm trying to remember the gov web site I went to, but I can't remember it. When I do, I'll post it. In the meantime http://www.autoobserver.com/2009/07/ano ... deals.html

Realize that if you do qualify, you only get the CARS value for your trade in, not the wholesale value too - the car literally gets scrapped. I was hoping the extra $4500 would close the negative equity gap between what we owe ($10,000) and what our 2006 Town & Country is worth as a trade in ($4,000), but alas, it is rated at 19 mpg and didn't qualify anyway.
