I've had fun at work this week. My collaborator from France is in town. Today we (okay, I) found way too much amusement in finding ways to work the word "sheet" into casual conversation. Does that mean I'm still in junior high?

I made a 16 qt. pot of gumbo today. It's a lot of work but so good. The roux I made turned out great, really dark. Some of the ingredients are 3 pounds of shrimp, 3 pounds of sausage and a 6 pound hen. it's better the next day so we will have it for dinner tomorrow night. I'll freeze whats left.

Can I be snarky here? I asked one of my friends how her 9th grade daughter was doing. Here is her response:
She has always been this driven...Has straights As in honors classes since she joined the excellerated track in 7th grade. I tell her to relax a little and she just motors on like a girl on a mission wish I guess is good.
I don't even know where to begin to respond to that. Perhaps I should respond with something along the lines of, "That is so nice."

I'd bet Ima would approve, "Bless her heart." :D

Did she really say excellerated track? (honest/serious question)

What you see above is what she wrote verbatim. I simply cut and pasted it here. Bonus points for any of you who pick up on the other errors.

1. straight
2. wish

There's 2 more.

I'd bet there's a punctuation error or two, too. (or would that be tutu :)) )
