Oh goodness... Too many to list.... A classic Firebird needs classic rock.

Allmans: Blue Sky, heck just play all of Eat a Peach and Live at Fillmore
Skynyrd: Freebird (too obvious but so what)
Stones: Can't You Hear Me Knockin', Midnight Rambler
CCR: Fortunate Son, Penthouse Pauper, Suzy Q
Springsteen: Cadillac Ranch, Born To Run

That's pretty much the direction I would go.
If Freebird starts playing as I pull out of the church parking lot, I can make it almost all the way home before it is over.
If freebird starts playing while I am in any parking lot, I won't even make it out of said parking lot without changing the channel or turning off the radio. Holy moley, I loathe that song.

But the rest of the list is pretty good. Add L.A. Woman and/or Love Her Madly and Thunder Road.
Yeah, I did too, and avoided "Freebird" aggressively... However, enough time has passed that I can tolerate it now, once in a great while, under the right circumstances. And driving a smoking hot Firebird would be one of them.... Call it a guilty pleasure, if you must... (Oh, and good call on "Thunder Road" - shouldn't have missed that...)

And speaking of guilty pleasures, I don't mind Kid Rock's clone / ripoff / mashup of "Sweet Home Alabama" into that summertime growing up in Detroit song.. Catchy little number... And it also reminded me of how much "Werewolves of London" borrowed that same riff too... I guess I'm becoming more of a sucker for unapologetic nostalgia in my advancing years...

BTW, the first choice Doors song would be "Roadhouse Blues" with "LA Woman" as #2...

Roadhouse Blues precedes LA Woman on the Best of the Doors 2 CD set I have in my car right now. Needless to say, I do not skip either one. :D

I actually like the acoustic version of Thunder Road better cuz it's so different but, when riding down the highway, it must be the original version or the live recording. Think I'll play the acoustic one right now as background music as I read over CTN :D .

Having fun playing with new personal tech this weekend. Got a Lenovo touchscreen tablet, and just installed the Developer Preview of the next version of Windows, codename Windows 8. It's fun and pretty. (But still too glitchy for mainstream use.) Love the touch/tablet interaction!

DA, I did the Win 7 compatibility test on my netbook, and it would work, but I'm not inclined to go through the hassles since XP works fine for now. I didn't try the developer Win 8 you linked, since it is for a 64 bit machine and my netbook is definitely only a 32 bit processor. Or should I try that too just for giggles?

I won't recommend Win8 for awhile yet - the developer preview that's available is not quite ready for primetime consumer mainstream. I have a high tolerance for bugs, and even this is bordering on "wait until beta" for me.

When Win8 does come out as an official release, it's going to come with a steep learning curve if you're moving from XP. (Unless you've been playing with an iPad or android tablet or something like that.) Hard to tell what that curve will be switching from Win7, as the Windows team is still working out some of the details that would matter. I find it good to know that the feedback is still getting back in time to affect the final product, as it'll definitely be for the better for most mainstream users.
