For how much longer will the mortgage tax deduction last?
Sure hope that one doesn't go away. Is there some danger of that happening? :-s
I don't know. But if they got rid of it, I know of a number of people who would be worried. :ymcowboy:

The last I heard about the mortgage deduction, the discussion about doing away with it was for second homes and homes over a specific and fairly large amount.

Congratulations, AD! Debt free is fantastic. If you can put a little extra toward your mortgage principal each month, it can really shorten the length of your mortgage. Of course, since you will be getting a new job and possibly moving, it may not make as much sense.

We had our mission trip shareholder's dinner tonight. I don't want to see the inside of a grocery store or a Costco for quite a while. Too many trips to purchase all the supplies. I made a batch of garlic mashed potatoes to take. Of course, the water boiled over and I didn't have time to clean that up before I had to head back over to church. I'm leaving it until tomorrow now. I'm tired.

It was a successful dinner - food was good, a decent turnout, the video presentation was great once we finally got it to run. I brought home leftover potatoes, spinach salad, and apple smoked portk. Jack did a great job with the pork.

Way to go, AD! :happy-bouncyblue:
Thanks, lawgrad!

Next goal: build up savings. The experts always advise 3 months worth of income, correct? Even one would make me happy at this point.
:happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue: :happy-bouncyblue:
Congrats!!

I still have grad school debt, but it's fixed @ 2% so we're only paying a bit over the monthly minimums.

However, we do have 5 months take home pay stashed away since my husband is in the volatile video game industry. Helps us sleep better at night. So 3 months sounds GREAT!!

And again what a milestone. Congrats!! Yeehaw!!

A woman was sipping on a glass of wine while sitting on the patio with her husband.

She said, "I love you so much. I don't know how I could ever live without you."

Her husband asked, "Is that you or the wine talking?"

She replied, "It's me. . . talking to the wine."

This week, we leave on Thursday for the mountains of Virginia for Bud's class reunion. They have one almost every year. It's usually a good time. We come home on Monday....then we leave again the following Thursday for Myrtle Beach for 10 days for the NCAPA summer conference. It's fun but we will be more than ready to come home. We'll really miss Harley. :O3

Only if she starts a buncha different threads like: husbands jokes, wife jokes, divorce jokes, fruit jokes, vegetable jokes, dirty jokes, clean jokes, political jokes, lawyer jokes, doctor jokes, engineer jokes, golf jokes, boss jokes, unc jokes (never mind), etc.

Here's a good calculator to figure out how fast you can pay off your mortgage. I entered my actual P&I, then after it calculated that time to payoff, I just started playing with the P&I payment to see how much paying a little more would shorten the period.
