Levees are being breached at the convergence of the Mississippi and Ohio where I come from. Hansblahblah's home town is right across the river from mine and they're already flooded. It's really bad out there. More rain in their forecast for the next two days. Can't believe I'm PAYING for water to put in this pool! :animals-duckie:

Bad storms have certainly hit the South (NC, ARK and MISS). Prayers to all.

I worked at a golf club today, they weren't very busy because it was seriously windy. By the way, greens fees at this place were cheap..$20 walking. I might be tempted to go lose a bunch of balls for that price.

Today, both ILJ/LL (Lexington) and I (Richmond) had tornado warnings in each location. The Lexington rush hour one had rotational winds, but did not become a full blown tornado. Thankfully, UK dodged one. The warning I experienced at work was the result of a touch down some 9 miles away. Fortunately, the tornado died off before coming to Richmond, which just experienced a 2 inch rainfall in minutes.

Now that I'm back home, we are under watch for another 7 hours. Lots of rain.

And we are still hoping that we don't get any flooding in our basement. We are now 12inches of rain over our normal rainfall for April.

Rotational clouds all around our area...they all passed harmlessly aloft and away from here to the north.
May God bless all those affected thus far.

I was worried about you, Capt. The news said it went north of us but every nasty weather picture sent in by a viewer was in your neck of the woods. Most of them were right on my way to work.

Glad you are ok.

I was worried about me too. I had returned from Roanoke and got home just in time to watch the sky spin. I'm glad I don't live in Eden. Did ya ever wonder why every storm that comes through these parts, ALWAYS ends up going through Eden? Seriously, pay attention to this fact. My theory is that it's because Eden sucks. :-?

It's because Fieldcrest Mills closed. Can't be because of the brewery, even if they brew Miller Lite there...

There is a Hellacious thunderstorm rolling through the Rock right now. Straight-line winds, lightning, and heavy rain. But, because we aren't in the metro areas, or even the best-loved viewing areas like Mt Airy or N Wilkesboro, the local TV stations are not giving it more than a passing glance when they look at their radar screens. Another fun-filled night of severe weather to look forward to. A tornado hit Joplin, MO, around an hour ago. They're showing pictures on The Weather Channel - the damage is extensive. The hospital took a direct hit. The storms are headed this way. :-ss
