If things continue as they have been, Baltimore will be 162-0 and will only give up 162 runs, total.
Not holding my breath on that one, but so far they look better.

I helped make history tonight as part of the smallest crowd ever at Turner Field, 13,685.
The folks who didn't come missed a good one, as the Braves played in my opinion their best all-around game of the season so far.

Was the weather cold in Atlanta?
Re: MLB 2011
Heh, well, if you ask a lot of Atlantans, then yes, it was "cold." By "cold," of course, we mean that a noticeable wind blew all day, and it was around 60 degrees by game's end. My friends and I all found it to be a supremely lovely evening to be at Turner Field, especially in light of the Braves' performance.YmoBeThere wrote:Was the weather cold in Atlanta?
I also continued the process of introducing a certain special and lovely young woman to my inner circle, which is going swimmingly.

I fear the Braves are playing for 2nd place this year. The Phillies have a ridiculously strong team. Still, I think we have a great shot at making the playoffs and who knows, with a well-timed hot streak we could be right there in September.wilson wrote:Heh, well, if you ask a lot of Atlantans, then yes, it was "cold." Keep your shirt on, buddy. There are 151 games left, and last night was the first time I really think the Braves played the sort of all-around game we believed their roster to be capable of. The Phillies, meanwhile, do have a very strong team, but they lost last night to the Nationals. They will suffer some offensive droughts, as their lineup is not nearly as formidable in recent years. The Braves' bullpen is markedly better than Philadelphia's as well.EarlJam wrote:I fear the Braves are playing for 2nd place this year. The Phillies have a ridiculously strong team. I am by no means ready to concede the division yet.
Re: MLB 2011
The only thing better than a Braves game is TWO Braves games.
Doubleheader is the best thing ever. My first in eight years, and only my second ever. Amelia is bemused at my childlike excitement, but she says she's excited to spend the day with me.

Actual texts I received while sitting at Turner Field this evening:
"Have you moved closer to a microphone? I think I can hear you." (from someone who doesn't own a television, and always listens on the radio)
"OMG I can totally hear you on TV right now."
"Is that you I hear yelling at the top of your lungs?"

Did your lovely young lady have a good time, either watching the game or watching you, or both?wilson wrote:Actual texts I received while sitting at Turner Field this evening:

I was hoping the Orioles would wait until at least May to go quietly into that good night, but no such luck.

Re: MLB 2011
This was not the first time I've gotten such correspondence. I pretty routinely get messages to the effect of, "I know you're at the game because I can hear you on TV." I rather pride myself on my loud voice. I always forewarn people when they come to the game with me for the first time, and they are always taken aback even after said warning.CathyCA wrote:That is way cool!wilson wrote:Yes, it was me.CathyCA wrote:Well, was that you?
However, my throat is a bit displeased with me today. My upper register did not exactly sound the best during the hymns in church today.
